Looking at these pictures is a reminder of just how fast time goes. It feels like yesterday you were these little 10 and 11 year old girls with big dreams and even bigger smiles. Somehow, in the blink of an eye, you’ve grown into incredible young women.
Being your coach has never just been about softball. It’s been about watching you grow, celebrating your wins, helping you through the tough days, and getting to be a small part of the people you’ve become. That has always meant more to me than any trophy ever could.
Maya… You have always been the kind of player who makes a team better simply by being on it. You bring so much energy and light wherever you go, and you care about the people around you just as much as you care about the game. I’ve watched you fight through challenges, but you never stopped working. Watching you grow into the pitcher, teammate, and person you are today is something I’ll always be grateful for.
Meg… From the very beginning, your work ethic set you apart. I’ve joked for years that you’re “Coach Meg” because sometimes I swear you think exactly the way I do. You’re truly my little mini me. I’ll never forget taking a few extra steps back at third base every time you came up to hit because I wanted to keep all my teeth. But more than that, I’ll remember your smile, your selflessness, and the way you always showed up for your teammates.
Brielle… If I had to describe you in one word, it would be selfless. You never stopped wanting to improve, always trusted the process, and never brought anything but positivity to this team. The growth in your game has been incredible, but I’m even more proud of the person you’ve always been.
The hardest part about coaching is knowing that one day these moments come. The seasons change, everyone starts chasing different dreams, but the relationships never end.
I’ll always be cheering for you, praying for you, and celebrating everything you accomplish. Once you’re one of my players, you’re family, and family doesn’t change.
I love you three more than you’ll ever know.
Always your coach. Always your #1 fan.
