Had a fun one this morning for a young mans biggest buck. Deer made a 180 degree turn and actually probably watched us ride in this morning bedded about 30 yards off the road going to shooting house.

Heidi was able to find a good one tonight for a hunter. The shot looked great on camera but it was a little further back than he thought. They actually jumped the deer and backed out. After dinner we loaded up and were able to find this nice buck for the happy hunter. And one we tracked last week showed back up on camera. We lost him after he crossed a major highway off the property.

This right here is what it's all about. Tonight got a call from a friend who had some friends hunting with him. The young man shot this stud of an 8 point with his bow. Not much blood and no arrow they decided to call me. I didn't hesitate and loaded up. We got to their hit site and the last spots of blood they found and Heidi went to work. She was able to find this buck with the arrow still in him. What happened when I told them to come see their buck got me fired up. They all immediately dropped to their knees in a prayer of thanks for this recovery. I had to take some pics while it was going on. It was very moving and reminds me how much of a blessing we are with these dogs.

Well we got this bow season off to a good start. Got a call last night from folks I've tracked for in the past. The hunter shot a nice buck a little far back and noticed guts hanging out as he walked off. He did the exact thing we always tell them. Stuck his arrow in the ground and went back to camp. We arrived this morning and I decided to bring Old Ada along for the track. Ever since her injury a few years ago she's been limited to just quail hunts. She's not as quick as she used to be and I'm scared if she gets a hold of a live one it could do damage to her. Well i figured this bucks would be DOA. I turned her and Heidi out on the track and they ran about 100 yards and stopped. I said well that's easy. We get there and there was a fresh bobcat kill of a rabbit that was covered up with leaves. I tell them track again and they go another 100 yards or so to this fine buck. Old girl still got it in her but shes so old I have to pick her up and out of the truck.
