Alex and I got on some good fish this morning just couldn’t keep any big fish hooked up, although we did take first place and big fish. But most important was getting the catch up with friends and have a few laughs. Hope to see everybody again next week.

Had a fantastic morning fishing the Mousetail Crappie tournament. Finished first place with over 11 pounds! The fish are getting close to spawning so the next few weeks should be really good and I will only be participating in catch and release until they are done spawning. I encourage everybody to do the same so that way we may continue to grow a healthy population of big Crappie!!!

Tomorrow is the 2nd annual Friends of Mousetail Landing State Park Crappie tournament. Even though we are expecting high water at the moment I hope to see a good turnout for the park.

Had a few big fish last night but high water is making it difficult to chase big slabs at night. Crappie really spread out at night to chase bait so in high water you really have to cover a lot of water to find these big fish. Also decided to pick up a bass rod for a minute.

Decided to change it up and give the crappie a break today. Just some eaters but a lot of fun!

Another fun day on the water! The fish are scattered and chasing bait. Had to stay way back and cast to them today if I made any noise within about 40’ they would run.
