If I had to restart my health and fitness journey as a busy mom of 2, here's exactly what I would do...

✨ Focus on protein first and aim for at least 30g at each meal. Plan everything else around it!

✨ Stop chasing perfection and focus on consistency. It's what you can continue to do consistently.

✨ Keep workouts short and effective before my kids wake up. I always feel better when I get my workout done first thing in the morning!

✨ Walk daily getting 8,000-10,000 steps per day.

✨ Build 3-4 simple habits that I can easily adapt to my lifestyle and stick with them.

I recently heard someone say, "I have to get fit before I start coming to the gym"...

Isn't the whole point of coming to the gym to get fit?

It's like saying, "I'll start tomorrow or I'll start again on Monday," but will you ever start?

Everyone is on their own journey and everyone starts somewhere, so just start.

At our gym, it's you vs. you and nobody else, as everyone is on their own journey for their life and their goals.

If your life is crazy busy during the week running from one kid activity to the next like mine, quick and simple dinners using my Instant Pot are my go-to!

This hack is my FAVORITE using frozen tamales (I purchase them from the ladies at our church, but when I run out, I buy them from Costco)! Just add a salad and top your tamales with some Greek yogurt and salsa, and your meal is done (and macro friendly, too).

Tamales in the Instant Pot
-8 frozen tamales
-2 cups water

Put the trivet insert in your Instant Pot. Add the water. Place frozen tamales in a row and stacked on top of each other for a total of 2-3 rows. Put lid on and seal. Cook on low pressure for 30 min. Release pressure as soon as they are done, remove carefully and enjoy!

Most women try to stay consistent by being stricter, eating less, pushing harder or starting over every Monday, but that usually leads to burnout and giving up.

Instead of aiming for "perfect," start aiming for "repeatable."

If you can repeat it on the busy weeks, stressful times and low-energy days, that's what creates results!

Consistency grows when your routine fits your real life...not your "ideal life."

It's all about progress, not perfection...

Small repeatable habits = progress which establishes a realistic routine that becomes a part of your lifestyle.

That's how confidence, strength, and long-term sustainable results are built.

Trying to “do it all” used to leave me burnt out and inconsistent. What finally changed things for me was keeping my health routine simple, realistic, and flexible for the season of life I’m in.

As a busy working mom of two, I’ve learned that consistency doesn’t mean perfection. It’s choosing small habits that support my energy, strength, and mindset — even on the hectic days. 💛

A few things that help me stay on track each week:
✨ Working out first thing in the morning...after I coach my 5:15 am class!
✨ Prioritizing protein + hydration
✨ Planning our meals for the week
✨ Weekly grocery order
✨ Picking up weekly fresh produce from our neighbors
✨ Meal prepping the bare necessities on the weekend (taking no more than 30 min!), i.e. egg cups, wash lettuces, triple batch protein pancakes, overnight oats
✨ Giving myself grace instead of starting over every Monday

Healthy habits don’t have to be all or nothing. The goal is building a lifestyle you can actually sustain with a system that works!
