Some awards mean more than others. Especially when a ref reaches out to you to let you know he is recognizing one of your players for displaying great sportsmanship. Only two people in all of NW Georgia got recognized at the Tip Off Club and Justin Davenport was one of them. It comes as no surprise however as Justin always demonstrates great sportsmanship and has high character. His love for the game, great leadership, and positive attitude is getting recognized and it is much deserved.

There are certain things that are guarantees in life. One guarantee for certain is when you match up Coosa and Pepperell in basketball you are going to get some of the most exciting back and forth action, and the games are going to go right down to the wire. In the most recent game, despite Pepperell leading by 22 in the 3rd quarter, Coosa staged a comeback narrowing the gap to 3 points with 2 minutes left. That is when Pepperell made a huge stand with timely defensive stops and big baskets including a huge 3 by Chris Fife that sealed the victory. The dragons fueled by strong defense and teamwork, clinched a vital win on senior night. Dragons used great defense and ball movement to grab a very important region win. On senior night, the seniors came up big with Chris Fife leading the way with 19 points and 8 rebounds. Eliot Goggans had 15 points and 9 rebounds and Landon Lockwood recorded his first ever double double with 11 points and 12 rebounds. The dragons are back in action for their last regular season match up Monday at Dade.

Someone once said … Teamwork: Coming together is a beginning. Keeping together is a process. Working together is a success.
This team has been an absolute joy to coach as they finished their last 15 games 12-3. This team did not beat people because of athleticism, skill, or height. Rather they relied on trust, sacrifice, and team stats over individual. I could not be prouder of what they accomplished! A year that will never be forgotten!
