When campers come to Pioneer Camp we spend lunch time at the pond house and make time after eating to explore nature and the farm pond creatures ….its very magical 💚

Took the little girls to Seaswell Campground Sunday for the campers to experience a little mini horse time …grooming, targeting games and a little art time !

The campground is run by Allison and Eric who have made this place even more magical this year - not to mention all the lovely renovations but to bring the community to the campground such as cute adorable local minis and other events. The welcome center used to be a horse barn for polo horses - one of the stalls have cozy seating for the adults, another stall has shelves full of board games, there is local wine, beer and coffee to purchase. The peaceful campground goes right down to the ocean, and there are even tent sites on a little river !

The girls, Dolina and I enjoyed meeting the kids - we will be back a few more times over the summer !

Why not try clicker training your horse and your dog ? This type of training is WONDERFUL and a lot of fun / it’s working with animal behavior and it works so well to develop clear communication !!!

I started clicker training my persona horses about 23 years ago and started developing my CTR method about 15 years ago using boarders horses and my lesson horses in my lesson program …..giving horses treats is just like a paycheck form your employer : horses are motivated by food so it’s a great reinforcer : the clicker marks behavior ….want to learn more / how to positively reinforce your horse? I offer clinics and will come to you …we need a minimum of 6 horse and rider pairs : Friday night is pot luck dinner - we eat and have discussion time, we play clicker games. Saturday is ground work day, we teach the horses targeting and work with them at liberty. Sunday we take the ground session information and work under saddle…..although I am currently a Dressage rider I can work with other disciplines ! (I rode hunter jumper in college)

As for DOG TRAINING - I was introduced to clicker training dogs when we had our first dog Ula about 25 years ago - took her to obedience, agility and fly ball classes until she was 6 then along came the poodle doodles and took them to dog classes for about 6 years !! Now I have 2 Jack Russel pups I’ve enjoyed training on my own….ive been offering in-home private dog training sessions as well ….come and train your dog at a horse farm !! It’s a lot of FUN

Pedro and riding students - about 10 years ago !!
He’s an old fellow now but still LOVES the kids and the attention …Pioneer Campers will get to groom, bathe, play with Pedro and they may even get a chance to ride around on this sweet fellow too (even jn their dresses and aprons just like back then ☺️ not to worry - helmets will be provided!)

On Pedro’s Birthday Dolina took a quick ba****ck ride…
Wait till the end of this video ….Pedro always nickers when he hears the “click” sound knowing he’s done something right and he also knows he’ll now get the reinforcer (treat) !! Cutest old man 💙 I also love Bea Buckleys laugh ….
