Who trains at Saga Combat?
Meet Stacey Bradley!

Stacey is an Electrical Engineer by trade and trained as a high level amateur in his 20s but like so many Dads had to take a long break to pursue career and raise his family.

Now- in his 50s, Stacey is in the gym 2-4 days a week, lost 26lbs, and though he has earned his blue belt- everyone knows he loves to box and kickbox above all! He’s competed multiple times for Saga and hopes to do more IBJJF this year!

For people on the fence Stacey tells us: “the gym is an encouraging family, everyone wants to see your success and the camaraderie is incredible “

Who trains at Saga Combat? Meet Matt Yusen!

Matt was looking for something fun and exciting to do, getting bored with the normal gym. As a UFC fan he saw the Saga sign and decided to just give it a try!

Matt has lost 16lbs and tells us his cardio and conditioning has skyrocketed since starting. More than anything though he loves the team group training atmosphere, giving him serious motivation to improve and having fun doing it. He tries to do it all- but loves No Gi the most.

Matt’s a National Sales Manager by day- and says “nothing burns calories like this, and once you get in here, it’s not as scary as you think! Everyone trains hard and hugs afterwards!”

We think that is a great way to describes good night at Saga.

In MMA there is no second place. But you can fight your hardest, or you can give in mentally and physically. At Saga, our warriors die on their shield or come back with it. Jake fought for 5 x 3 min rounds and showcased an amazing stand up game, heel hook and knee bar attacks, and in my opinion was contender for fight of the night. You left it all in the cage and made us proud.

Gavin knew that this was his toughest match up yet but still answered the call to attack relentlessly, fired all guns possible, making sure that there was no question he was coming for the Ko.

Both fighters are healthy and safe, and fought for you Team Saga- honor them by training hard and with a great attitude this week!! Make them proud of you as we are proud of them!!

Who trains at Saga Combat?
Meet the Hord family!
Travis is father to Graden (14) and Sawyer (6).
After his boys tried class, they begged him to give it a try, and with Mom encouraging it immediately it became a family affair.

Travis works hard as a Maintenance Supervisor, but manages to make it in about 3 times a week, doing boxing and BJJ.

What’s changed: “It’s really helped my confidence in stressful situations and I’ve lost 22lbs since joining in October” he mentions that being at the gym with his kids is a great blessing.

What he says to those considering trying Saga:
“You’ll be nervous, but you’ll find that the community here is super encouraging. If you can do this with your family, it really helps to get acclimated fast!”

Footnote- Travis took gold in his first tournament and both his boys performed tremendously. We can’t promise you’ll win gold- but the real gold was training with his family!
