This is ILMA newest student Rain. She has been training with us since April and has finally earned her white sash. Rain is a very hard worker and her perseverance and work ethic showed through today. We at ILMA are very proud of her accomplishment and look forward to her continued growth in the martial arts.

ILMA participated in the annual Queen’s Charlotte Cup yesterday and we did great. My student Charlie competed in empty-hand forms and sparring divisions. He placed first in both his divisions and got a surprise promotion out of him as I have been secretly testing him for the past month. To say I’m proud of this kid is an understatement. I would like to again thank my Sifu Delmar Minor for giving me this opportunity and having faith in me to spread the art he began teaching me almost 15 years ago. Like I’ve said before there would be no Iron Lotus without the Northern Shaolin School of Kung Fu.

There would be no Iron Lotus Martial Arts without the Northern Shaolin School of Kung Fu. I never would have thought when it walked through those doors 15yrs ago that I would be out teaching on my own and spreading the art that my Sifu Delmar Minor gave me. I still go several times a week to train with my Instructor and classmates and help teach at the school
during the week. This school will help change your life both inside and out. You’ll not only learn self defense but confidence, mental resilience, and gain a whole other family. My Sifu gave me permission to teach a little over a year or two ago and back in January of this year I began teaching the young man in the pictures above. We mainly train virtually during the week and meet in person on Saturdays. He works his tail off and it paid off in dividends this weekend as he competed in his first martial arts competition at the Fall Classic this past Saturday. Im very thankful to be his teacher and to be able to guide him in this journey. I look forward to the years to come and to see how he does in the Spring at the Queens Charlotte Cup.

Good evening everyone just a quick announcement that classes will begin in September and be held at Betty Ross Park located near downtown Lincolnton. Class times will be every Tuesday and Thursday from 6:00pm-7:30pm. Please message us for class rates and any other questions.
