What a wonderful four year ride-
Effective immediately Batter Up is signing off! Thank you for all the families and coaches that trusted us with your young athletes to call this place home .
As of today - we are officially closed !

Many thanks to our General Manager and my father in law , Sam Dellinger who was the lifeblood of the operation . Also known as “the bouncer” , your countless hours of work will never be forgotten .

And we can’t close out without a picture of Jonathan Willis ! We love ya like family .

Donnie Thompson is a Lincolnton native and former standout athlete at Lincolnton High School. He earned a full football scholarship to Gardner-Webb University, where he studied Sports Education with a minor in Communication. He later earned his Master’s degree in Diversity, Equity & Inclusion at the University of Dubuque and continued his collegiate career at Livingstone College. Competing at all three NCAA division levels helped shape his leadership, discipline, and confidence — forming the foundation of Takeover Training and his commitment to developing athletes the right way.

Takeover Training develops athletes from youth to professional in speed and agility, skill development, position-specific training, and competitive performance. The mission is to build disciplined, confident, and complete athletes on and off the field.
