What a fantastic weekend in Des Moines! A crew of Lincoln Fencing Club fencers traveled to compete in the Happy Squid Tournament, where they fenced hard, had a blast, and reconnected with great friends from across the region.

Huge congratulations to Lincoln Fencing Club’s own Charlotte, who took on the RJCC of the Rockies this weekend!

Charlotte showed incredible grit and versatility, competing across four events: Cadet & Junior Women’s Saber and Cadet & Junior Women’s Épée. 💪✨

She fenced with heart, gained valuable competitive experience, and brought home great takeaways to share back on the LFC strips.

Did you know? Due to high demand, we’ve added an extra session of our popular youth beginner class! In addition to our Saturday classes, the same curriculum is now available on Tuesday evenings from 5:30 PM – 7:00 PM. 🎉

It’s not too late for your child to jump in and try something new, or adjust classes to better fit your schedule!

🎨 More Picnic Fun! 🎨

Thanks to the incredible generosity and expertise of one of our fencing families, we hosted a fantastic tie-dye fundraiser at our recent club picnic!

Everyone had a blast creating their own colorful, custom tie-dye shirts, which were specially designed for the occasion by an LFC coach! Best of all, through this fun activity, we raised over $400 to support our club! 🤺✨

Check out some highlights from one of our most beloved and chaotic annual traditions: The Espada! 🏆

If you’ve never experienced the Espada, imagine a wacky, no-holds-barred épée tournament where nobody knows what the rules are... until they’re made up right on the spot. Hopping on one foot? Fencing on swings? Eyes closed? Anything and everything goes!

🤺 Celebrating Excellence at the Lincoln Fencing Club Annual Picnic! 🤺

What a fantastic year for our club! We gathered for our annual picnic to celebrate all the hard work, growth, and unforgettable moments from this past season. We are so proud of the dedication shown by every single fencer who stepped onto the strip this year.

Our coaches wanted to give special recognition to a few individuals who went above and beyond in their progress and spirit. Please join us in congratulating this year’s award winners! 🏆

✨ Most Improved Youth: Sophia
✨ Most Improved Cadet: Stefan
✨ Most Improved Junior: Maddy
✨ Most Improved Adult: Frederick
✨ Cutting Edge Award: Franklin

This season was packed with incredible milestones! On the global stage, Coach Josh represented Team USA at the Veteran World Championships, placing 8th in Vet-50 Saber and taking home a Bronze medal with the USA team! Back home, we launched fantastic new traditions that are here to stay. Our Sunday Sword Circuit youth tournaments gave our young fencers valuable competition experience, fun, and connection. Plus, we introduced Femme Fatale Fridays, creating a dedicated space for the women of LFC to build community, learn from one another, and empower strong female athletes on and off the strip.

Beyond our award winners and milestones, a huge THANK YOU goes out to all of our fencers, coaches, and parents. Your energy, support, and passion make our club truly unique. We are so lucky to be a part of the incredible community we’ve built together.

Here’s to another amazing year of growth, camaraderie, and great fencing! ⚔️❤️

🤺 Summer camp success!

LFC youth fencers had an incredible time sharpening their skills at Northwestern University’s fencing camp!

They put in serious work on the strip, had a blast connecting with fencers from across the country, and gained valuable lessons to bring back to LFC and carry forward into the upcoming competition season.
