Here is our Fall 2026 schedule. It is going to be another busy year! We look forward to seeing everyone in a couple weeks.

The Fort Hays State University Shotgun Sports Team delivered an outstanding performance at the 2026 AIM Grand, earning three Junior Gold team championships while competing against many of the nation's top youth shooters. With nine current team members representing the Tigers, FHSU claimed the Junior Gold Sporting Clays Team Championship, the Junior Gold S***t Team Championship, and the Junior Gold American Trap Singles Team Championship, highlighting the depth and talent of a team that continues to excel on one of the sport's biggest stages.

One of the highlights of the week came during the American Trap Singles Championship, where one FHSU squad posted a perfect 500x500. While the program has achieved perfect team scores before, this marks the first time in program history that all five shooters on the same squad shot perfect 100s simultaneously—a remarkable accomplishment that speaks to the depth and consistency of the team.

Sophomore Jackson Yost turned in one of the week's most impressive individual performances, firing a perfect 200x200 in the American Trap Singles Championship to earn a spot in a seven-way shoot-off for the overall title. Yost ultimately finished second overall while capturing the Junior Gold American Trap Singles Championship. He also posted a 394x400 in the High All-Around, advancing to a three-way shoot-off, where he again finished second overall to secure the Junior Gold High All-Around Championship.

Junior Korbin Smith paced the Tigers in the s***t and sporting clays events, winning the Junior Gold 300-Bird Combined S***t/Sporting Clays High Overall (HOA) with an outstanding 292x300. Smith also claimed the Junior Gold Sporting Clays Championship and added a fourth-place finish in Junior Gold S***t, showcasing his versatility across both disciplines.

Beyond the team championships, FHSU athletes earned numerous individual honors throughout the five-day competition, representing both the university and the Shotgun Sports program with outstanding skill, sportsmanship, and professionalism.
With the fall semester quickly approaching, the Tigers are excited to welcome a talented incoming class and build on the momentum from another memorable summer on one of the biggest stages in youth shooting sports.

As another season comes to a close, we want to recognize and celebrate our 7 graduating seniors for everything they have meant to our program.

Thank you for your dedication, sacrifice, leadership, and countless hours of hard work. You helped build the culture of this program and represented our team, university, and community with pride both on and off the range.

Your impact will be felt long after your final competition, and we are incredibly thankful for everything you have given to this program.

We are proud of each of you and excited to see what the future holds. Congratulations, graduates — once part of this team, always part of this family.
