We finally put together the qualifying run we’ve been looking for! Kinley topped her group with an 11.484-second lap to earn P1 in qualifying.
The invert placed her 4th for the heat race. She got a great launch when the green flag dropped and quickly worked her way into 2nd, where she would finish.
The combined points from qualifying and the heat race earned Kinley a front-row outside starting spot for the feature. She had a solid start and settled into a battle near the front before slipping off the preferred groove and spinning, making contact with another car in the process.
After restarting at the tail of the field, she put together a hard-fought charge through traffic. Kinley battled with several cars while working her way forward but never quite found the rhythm she needed to consistently gain ground. She crossed the line in 7th.
Overall, it was another strong night with plenty of positives to take away. The speed is there, the confidence is growing, and we’re continuing to learn every time we hit the track. We just need to put all the pieces together when it matters most. She’s getting closer every week, and it won’t be long before that first micro sprint win finds its way to Victory Lane. 😎
