Kanc Freestyle Programs

Kanc Freestyle Ski/Snowboard Team and the Kanc Jibbers rec program This program is for kids grade K-5.

This page is dedicated to the Linwood Freestyle Ski/Snowboard Team along with the Kanc Jibbers elementary program at the Kanc Ski Slope in Lincoln, NH. The Linwood Freestyle Team is a club sports team at Linwood Public School and is available to Linwood athletes from grade 6-12. The Kanc Jibbers program is run by the Lincoln-Woodstock Rec Department in affiliation with the Linwood Freestyle Team.

Building a culture in the Lincoln/Woodstock communities around competitive freestyle skiing and snowboarding

Vision
To see local Linwood freestyle athletes enjoy the mountains and be given the opportunity to take the first step into freestyle competitions

Values
Fun: We love freestyle skiing and snowboarding and we want to continue to enjoy the gift of it! Consistency: Consistent repetition of coaching and practice lead to safe progression
Intentionality: Athletes who are intentional with their time on the hill have the best opportunity to progress
Competition: Competition gives the athlete consistent goals to reach towards and opportunities to perform under pressure
Coaching: A skill is never mastered until it’s taught. Our athletes will be expected to take their skills and teach them to younger or less skilled athletes to continue to build the culture of freestyle skiing and snowboarding

We were so stoked to host the 2026 NE SMS - New England Small Mtn Series Championships this year at the Kanc Rope Tow and it was INSANE! This was the biggest freestyle event ever hosted here with over 50 competitors and a huge crowd to spectate! This event couldn't have happened without tons of volunteers, coaches, judges, and sponsors who got behind this rad competition series.

The NE SMS - New England Small Mtn Series Championships at the Kanc! We're so stoked to have the last stop of the series and it will be our first time hosting the championship!

The NE SMS is a series focused on providing a space to compete for local kids coming from small mountains and rope tows all throughout New England! We keep the setups fun and mellow to encourage young kids and beginners to be able to participate and have a great time. At the end of the championship, we will be crowing the series champions and handing out TONS OF PRIZES thanks to all of our awesome sponsors!

Details:
- Slopestyle format: 2 runs and best score counts
- Age groups: 10 & under, 11-13, 14-18
- $20 registration fee ($10 for Kanc pass holders)
- 3pm to 5pm registration/practice
- 5:15pm rider's meeting
- 7pm awards
- Who can compete? Athletes must be 18 & under and have a pass to a small mtn (900 vertical feet or less)

This upcoming Wednesday is our first ever Jon Zukowski Kanc Classic Rail Jam to kickoff a week of shredding events at the Kanc Rope Tow! See you there at 5:15pm for spectators or register to compete between 3-5pm

The event is hosted in memory of longtime local freestyle ski coach and outdoorsman Jon Zukowski. We look forward to continuing his legacy through this event!
