Finishing as Champions of the 11U Gold Bracket this weekend! It was a long, hot weekend with rain delays, and fighting from the fifth seed in gold at the start of the day today. These boys battled through three games today (five total for the weekend) to bring home the gold.

⚾️ GBG Southeast 10U⚾️

GBG Southeast 10U closed out spring season competing in a World Series event in Pensacola, Florida. The boys put together a strong showing in pool play, finishing 3-1 and earning the #4 seed heading into bracket play.

While the bracket results didn’t fall our way, the team competed with heart, grit, and determination, holding their own against AA-AAA teams from multiple states. Every game was an opportunity to learn, grow, and test themselves against higher-level competition.

Traveling to events like these is about more than wins and losses. It’s about exposure to different environments, challenging conditions, and a variety of playing styles. It’s about facing new obstacles, adapting under pressure, and gaining valuable experience that helps shape players for the future.

The lessons learned today become the foundation for success tomorrow. Through the spring season, this group overcame challenges, embraced adversity, and made tremendous strides both individually and as a team. Their growth, resilience, and commitment to getting better were evident every step of the way.

We are incredibly proud of this team. As we turn the page and prepare for the transition to 11U, we are excited for new opportunities, challenges, and the horizon ahead.

Finishing Day 2 in Pensacola, FL. 2-1 in pool play. Facing teams from Ohio, Louisiana, and Mississippi. Rain did not deter these boys. They came to play this morning. USSSA Florida has done a great job at clearing and drying fields. Getting all games in, playing on all natural surfaces, while being on the outskirts of a tropical depression. Ready for Day 3 and bracket play tomorrow.

What a great day these boys had on the field today. They transitioned into 11u and won there first game 11-5, won there 2nd game 8-7. That put them as the #1 seed going to bracket. They came up a couple of runs short in the championship game that went into extra inning. Very proud of these young boys. Next stop is in Pensacola Florida for these boys for the Florida world championship tournament.

The wait is over.

We would like to welcome Coach Jackson to the GBG team and family. Coach Jackson grew up on the outskirts of Nashville, TN, playing travel baseball from childhood through his high school days. Jackson was a three-year starter for his high school varsity baseball team. Baseball led Jackson to ETSU to study data analytics and player development. Jackson has also been part of the coaching staff for ETSU baseball for the last three years. Coach Jackson reached out wanting to get involved with youth baseball and give back to the youth players. Coach Jackson is ready to get to work. We are looking forward to having him on the coaching staff. Stay tuned and keep an eye out; we're not done yet, we're just getting started. Big things are on the horizon for GBG as we transition into 11u.
