There are only so many afternoons left for running outside without a coat, climbing until the sun goes down, and hearing “five more minutes” at the playground. October is a reminder that outdoor play doesn't have to end just because summer did.
Make the most of the season while it lasts.

A playground’s layout has to account for movement, visibility, transitions between activities, and the way different children will use the space at the same time.

Thoughtful design is what turns a collection of play elements into a playground that actually works as a complete environment. Bears approaches every design with those details in mind.

Years from now, they probably won't remember what they were supposed to be doing on a random October afternoon. They might remember the playground.

The race to see who could reach the top first. The game that made absolutely no sense to the adults. The “one more time” that turned into five more trips down the slide. Outdoor play has a way of creating the ordinary moments that end up becoming the memorable ones.

Build spaces that give kids plenty of moments worth remembering. Discover more at BearsPlaygrounds.com.

Turning your playground into a haunted house? Honestly, we support it.

October is the perfect excuse to let kids get a little more creative with the outdoor spaces they already love. A playground can become a haunted castle, a pirate ship, a mountain fortress, or whatever their imagination decides it is that day.
Before the cold weather sends everyone indoors, make the most of every opportunity to play outside.

Fall brings some of the best conditions for outdoor play, with cooler temperatures and a landscape that makes every familiar play space feel new again. There is still plenty of time to climb, run, explore, and make memories outside.

Don't let the calendar convince you that outdoor play is over.

Spring playground projects start with fall planning.
While everyone else is thinking about the holidays, it is a great time for schools, parks, churches, and communities to start thinking about what they want their outdoor spaces to look like next year. Getting the conversation started early gives you more time to consider the space, design, budget, and play experience you want to create.

Cold weather is coming. That makes October's playground days count a little more.

There will be plenty of time for indoor games, movie nights, and snow-day activities later. Right now, there are still comfortable afternoons for climbing, running, exploring, and getting outside without bundling up from head to toe.
Make the most of the outdoor season while it is still here.

Curves, crooked logs, climbing routes, bridges, and changes in elevation can transform the simple act of moving from one part of a playground to another into part of the adventure. Bears uses the natural character of cedar to create structures that feel less manufactured and more connected to the environment around them.

The right design has to make sense for the space, the children who will use it, the types of play you want to encourage, and the overall vision for the property. Bears works with customers to create playgrounds that are thoughtfully designed around those individual needs.

A playground + a pile of leaves = an afternoon well spent.

There doesn't have to be a complicated plan for outdoor play. Sometimes all it takes is a familiar playground, crisp fall air, and enough time for kids to turn the afternoon into their own adventure.

Fall won't stick around forever, so make the most of the days that are left.
