We raced Millstream Speedway tonight in the Dirt Track Truck Series. Won our heat race. Redraw had me starting 5th. Moved up to 4th. Could not reel in the top three. Solid night. Gains were made.

4th place amongst this pack of the guys is a respectable night.

Shout out to Frank Paladino because everyone knows he likes the steering wheel off a 1974 Mack or Peterbilt. That's where the idea came from.

Anyone know if spinners on the wheel are legal in our class? My wheel loaders and tractor have them. Why not the race truck? šŸ˜

Just a little bit more tinkering every night. Double checking to ensure the valve cover leak is no longer leaking. Check bolts again. A little sheet metal repair. Some nights aren't about turning wrenches to check things. Some nights you just need to tinker. Clears the mind. Provides a window to think about previous races or upcoming races. Sort of helps a man keep his sanity in this crazy world we live in.

I'm still trying to figure out what hit the visor. It moved the entire roof. Almost had to be a chunk of lead. Very fortunate this came thru the passenger side and not the driver's side.

This Saturday, August 29th, we will be at Millstream Speedway. There is a chance it is our last series race of the season. Atomic Speedway announced today they are racing thru Sept 5th and re-evaluating their remaining races. We are scheduled for Sept 19 at Atomic.

Oil changed. Valves were ran. Changed out the spark plugs. Battery charged. Checked some set up measurements. I think we just need to clean tires better, do a more thorough nuts and bolts check, and double check alignment.

You would think we were racing this weekend. Unfortunately, life obligations will prevent me from racing this weekend.

For the other guys in our class, 35 Raceway Park is putting on a $500 to win show. Best of luck to anyone heading that direction.
