In 1987, Kathy Thomas opened En Pointe School of Dance with the goal of offering a unique approach to quality dance training. While other schools seemed to focus on the body only, Kathy felt strongly that it was important to train the whole child: mind, body, and soul. She continues to carry on Kathy's legacy and passion for the job. She and her staff strive to create an encouraging, loving environment in a studio space that feels like home to many students, while offering classes in Ballet, Modern, Jazz, Tap, Hip Hop, and Acrobatics. En Pointe also offers students the opportunity to perform with Avoda Dance Company and competition team. En Pointe has come to enjoy the reputation of turning out well trained, well rounded, happy dancers. Many having gone on to dance with regional and professional dance companies, been awarded the Governor's Honor Award, received scholarships for summer study at prestigious schools in the United States, studied at college dance programs, and some have become teachers themselves.
