Congratulations Jack Secord, who recently became the number one ranked player in the country in the Boy’s 14s in his first year in the age group.

Congratulations ”Jumpin’ Jack” Secord on a 5th place finish at the USTA Boy’s 14s National Hard Courts in Mobile, AL.

Jack was seeded #1 and lost in the round of 16, but battled back winning 8 of 9 matches total to win the consolation, which is all the more remarkable considering that 27 players in the Boy’s 16s and 35 in the Boy’s 18s choose to withdraw from the consolation rather than “gut it out” and risk losing to lower ranked players in the back draw.

Competitive tennis should be as much about “character development” as anything else. Not the least of which, is “getting back up” after getting knocked down after a disappointing loss. Great effort Jack!

Congratulations Jack Secord on a third place finish at the Boy’s 14s National Clay Courts in Dothan, AL in his first year of the age division. He is shown with a “bronze ball” to go along with the two “gold balls” he won last year for winning the Clay Courts and Hard Courts last year.
