RSC Gor Mahia

RSC Gor Mahia RSC Gor Mahia is an original member of the USLKC, founded in the fall of 2008 to introduce the "beautiful game" to children the inner city of Kansas City. i.e.

The team's name is that of one of the more succesful famous Kenyan Football clubs. While our emphasis has been to introduce the game to more kids from the inner city, it is more geared to help better interested players in learning the games without spending any extra money. We charge no additional fees other than what helps offset costs of running the club. League and equipment fees only

Always exciting when we play against a former Gor player. JJ tried hard to get him, and with two former Gor One's going at it, one went home unhappy. We lost but it was good to see another Gor player in action still.

Been a while folks. Hope all of you are well. I was out at the Ray South Jamboree the other day and thought i would capture some Gor Mahia players still doing their thing. Wasn't on my A game for pictures so missed a few others. I think in the Spring, I will return to coaching and finish off the high school years for some of these guys. Hopefully we can reunite. I miss them just too much.

Gor Mahia players still making me proud. Another freshman and another Varsity player. Girls season is in effect and I had to stop by and see the smiling one. I missed her partner in crimes play, and found out there is a third player on the Raytown High School team. I promised them I will have to catch a game for all of them

And the tour continues. Though this time, I got lucky and did not have to go far, as the visiting Raytown South High School stopped by our school for a game. These three individuals did well for their school as they did for Gor Mahia before. All playing in totally different positions, but contributing. Glad to see you guys

And the high school tour continues. The one man double team, aka Makanaky was in action for his Grain Valley school. Surprised that he changed positions to a striker, but hey, as long as the kids keep playing. Was a joy to see him and his non stop motor. Raytown school today so hope to see more kids.

My high school soccer tour took me to watch an original and defensive mainstay for Gor Mahia. Kid was with us from even before the teams beginning. Unfortunately on his first call to duty doing what he does best, protecting his goalie, he got hurt, and so the show abruptly ended. He is a fighter and am pretty sure he will be back soon. All the Best in your recovery "Mertesacker".

High School soccer season is upon us. While at a tournament way up north, got to see a former Gor One representing his high school. Quite a few players from this Gor team will this fall be representing their schools, and I will make it a point to go watch them. Very proud of these kids taking it to the next level. Honored I got a chance to work with them and see them continue to succeed in the sport.

After a rained out Saturday, the kids took back to the field to play against a team that just a week ago had handed us a pretty good whipping. We played a much better game but still fell short. A few kids did show much more character in the fight. Progress in small steps

Our game this weekend took us way east of town to face another smaller community club. Missing a few key players, we had to come from behind and earn a tie game. The kids did well and showed perserverance despite a mistake that led to the goal. Half way through the season, we have won 1 tied 1 and lost 2. Enjoy the pictures
