we are adding new culinary experiences at the fishing lodge. This is going to be a major hit. Smoked ribs in a Tamarind, Sugar Cane, and Bourbon glaze with black garlic sweet potato mousse with grilled oyster mushrooms and sautéed baby corn.

just another day in South Texas. Rattle Snakes are everywhere with all the rain we have been getting. We will never complain about rain or dead rattle snakes. Be very very careful right now in the grass as the snakes are on the move again.

best way to wash off your rods after a long day of Tarpon fishing. Let it rain on them for 4 hours. The NRX+s is our choice day in and day for tarpon and permit fishing. Check them out at your local Gloomis dealer. We love and Andy Packmore for our clients when it comes to fly fishing.

well well we don't post alot of pics of clients with fish or animals etc as most of them are very private individuals, because of their last names and careers. Now this one should be as well , but we spend about 30 days a year on the water together and we always have a new story to tell aka "The Adventures of Missy Bonds told by Jason Catchings ". So here goes. When she was here last in November, she put on a clinic and two other guides and their clients left the area, in August caught a 48.75 lb bull redfish on fly. Yes we have pictures and measurments and a scale to prove it. Asked her you want a world record, her answer was nope and lets catch more fish and we watched big girl swim away. The trip before we were fishing down a bank and she is casting at a fish and a mottled duck flew out of the cane in her face as she is swatting it with a NRX+s 10wt to get itbour of her face. This week for her annual Christmas trip she shows up after the NFR in Vegas with a sickness. I say it's the flu, but she says not, but I'm just saying you don't go to the drug store in Louisiana for a zpacks and steroid medicine, if you have a cold lol. So today, after a fish beat down on the big bulls Missy took a nap lol. Tomorrow brings another adventure.

Texas Turkey hunting as changed over the last couple days with all the wind and dust in the air. Turkeys are hitting ground and have gone silent. As much as I hate it, we see this every year when it blows over 25 mph. To be successful we will switch h to hunting food and water sources. Understand this isn't the way we like to hunt, but our goal is to produce for our clients. #

absolutely beautiful conditions for sightfishing this morning. Matching rod and reel to your client is very important and over looked by most people. This client needed a rod and reel that had a little more weight to it. So we chose the E6X 904s and the Stradic 3000 . People always ask why we carry 30 rods and reels in the boat. Somedays it's all NRX+ rods and a Stella.The next day or type of fishing, it might be a GCX and a Vanford. Being prepared for any situation makes your client more successful. absolutely a crime taking place here in the Louisiana Delta. The Poggie Boats are killing thousands of baitfish, trout, bull redfish, sharks, and every other swimming fish in the water. This is absolutely a tragedy for our fishery. If you are a tackle company, boat manufacturer, engine manufacturer, trolling motor manufacturer, electronic manufacturer, clothing manufacturer, conservation organization, tackle store owner, or rely on tourism dollars from fishing you better speak out against this. Put your money and conservation efforts to stop this overharvesting and collapse of our fishery. I don't want to hear, "we need more post Jason to support our gear etc", because if this continues your sales will drop when the fishery collapses. We talk about lifestyle pictures and themes, let's talk about the fishing industry stepping up to the plate and taking a stance against the unregulated industry of poggie fishing. Let's see how many people and companies step up to the battle on the frontline.

the new Stella FK best new Freshwater Reel at ICAST 2022 isn't just for freshwater. Absolutely a must for inshore fishing for speckled trout, redfish, flounder, or stripers. My two favorite things about the new Stella is the ifininity loop technology that drastically reduces line friction coming off the spool during the cast. This means greater accuracy and casting distance. The second is the Duracross drag system provides smooth inertia at the beginning of the fishes run and the increased durability of the drag system. We prefer the 3000 model on a Conquest or NRX+ 842S with 20lb SSV2 .
