The flyers went out to the schools on Monday. The 4th-9th grades have a short deadline, as they start playing the first week of May. They will combine the leagues with North Ogden and surrounding cities. I will be helping with registration for Greg, as well. Please send me information through my email, [email protected]. You can also text me @ 801-391-9880.
The younger ones will not start their league until June 2021, so their deadline is April 30th. Thank you for the support. Kathy

I wanted everyone to know I have relinquished the baseball/softball program to Greg Gerritsen. For right now, his contact is on his email, which is [email protected].

There has not been a meeting scheduled yet for the Directors of other cities, so there is not any information right now on the programs. We will certainly keep everyone informed when those schedules are decided. Last year we chose not to have the programs because of Covid, but I am confident it will move forward this year. I will still be a contact as well for Greg and the program.

Thank you everyone for always supporting our Recreation Programs. See you this summer.

I wanted everyone to know that with a heavy heart, we have decided not to have our baseball/softball program this season. We had to make a tough decision, but due to the virus, we did not want to take that chance. Some of the cities, such as Ogden, were waiting for the yellow phase to start their program. They do know that we are not having one, so if you want your students to play, please call them or other cities. I do know that some have chose not to participate this summer. We are so sorry that this has caused some inconvenience for some. Hopefully we will have a strong program next year and it will be safe.

Ogden Valley Recreation right now is only affiliated with baseball/softball. I relinquished the basketball program to Bryan Bailey a few years ago. OVR also did a volleyball clinic many years ago as well as tennis lessons. During that time, I was managing a water park for 7 years and coaching high school tennis (boys and girls) for 12 years. I have been a part of Ogden Valley Recreation for 30 years now. It has been a joy watching the kids develop their skills. I have also seen the kids grow and now have kids of their own. Those parents that started in 3rd grade with OVR are also involved in coaching their kids. Thank you all for supporting our programs through those many years. To watch those students play high school sports has been so rewarding.

This is my last year as the Director for Ogden Valley Recreation. If anyone is interested in that position, please let me know. We do have a protocol with our organization, as we do have board members involved.

I have had questions on pickleball leagues out in the valley. At the present time, Ogden Valley Recreation is not offering a league. Please check with Huntsville town, as I know in the past they have offered one. Also, I suggest to visit the courts when you see people playing, as they may have some openings in their group. I love PB, so maybe in the future I may get involved. There are several leagues, especially at Mt. Ogden courts, and I actually drive to Farmington to play. Maybe I will do an open play day......will let you know. Please be safe. Again, thank you so much for all the support and for all the coaches and volunteers that participated in our programs.

Thank you so much,
Kathy Allen

We have several events planned for next week, if you played in our program. Swim Day for a discounted price for North Shore Aquatic Center is planned for Tuesday, August 6th. Also, the Raptors game are planned for either Friday, August 9th or Tuesday, August 13th. If you want to go, you must call, email, or text me......as I have to order those tickets. That program is the Buddie Program, so the players will be available to go on the field before the game. If you want to go, You Must notify me. I buy those tickets three days before the game. Thank you to everyone that supported our program this year. A special Thanks to all the coaches.

Just wanted to put more information out there. The younger students will receive their registration forms next week to take home. The younger players will play over at Huntsville Park starting the first of June. The teams will be formed in May and may have two practices a week, depending on the kids and the coach. The teams will usually not practice once the games start, which will be twice a week. The fee does include a hat, shirt, and a participate trophy. Again, if you need additional information, please contact me by email: [email protected] or my cell: 801-391-9880. Thank you for your support.
