This one starts fast and finishes slow! The amount of additional focus on form to make decent shots sitting might surprise you. It did me!

WEEK 4

10-burpees
1-arrow

Total time minus archery score. 10-ring equals -10s, 9-ring equals -9s and so on. Miss the target +10s.

One of the benefits of these challenges is to challenge your nervous system. Doing something physically demanding and immediately shifting gears to doing something mentally demanding will help prepare your body and mind to respond well in that real world scenario!

EL&B Outdoors Summer Challenge
Week 2

For Time:
20 Pushups
1 Arrow
20 Pushups
1 Arrow
20 Pushups
1 Arrow
20 Pushups
1 Arrow

At the end you’ll have 80 pushups and 4 arrows shot. This one burns!!! Each arrow can be up to -10s off your time for a 10 ring or +10s for a miss. Each ring is what it is if you’re on paper outside the rings (-4s). You can shoot however you want. I shot from knees for ease and speed.

Tip: If you can’t draw your bow back from your knees with ease you’re pulling too much weight.

Official Score is run time plus or minus shooting scores. Example 6:44 run minus 10s,5s,5s,4s (on paper outside rings) equals 6:20 Official Run for me to kick it off!

EL&B Outdoors 2026 Summer Challenge

Hunting season will be here before we know it! Each week between now and September I’m posting a challenge to test your skills, have fun and create some friendly competition. Nothing too extreme. Each week will have a physical portion married with an archery portion and a simple scoring system. That way you can challenge yourself and your buddies to get better each week and share your results here!

If you’re not following now’s the time to start. Make sure to tag your friends, family and hunting buddies below so they’ll be in the know!

First Challenge will posts tomorrow just in time for everyone to get some reps in and have some bragging rights by 4th of July weekend!
