Results from Monday 04-13-26

Mario Kart-

Jess Johnson raced against his opponent from Somerset Community College in round 3 of the Spring playoffs. Unfortunately, Johnson wasn't able to catch up to the Somerset player and fell on the night 0 - 4. Johnson ends the season with a record of 9 - 4.

Results from Thursday 04-09-26

Fortnite-

Henry Perez and Jess Johnson began the semi final round with a shootout against Forsyth Technical Community College. The two teams traded sets at the start of the best of 3 series. Unfortunately, the FTCC crew got the better of the Saints. Perez and Johnson fell on the night 1 - 2. Their record in post season was 2 - 2, and will end the season with an overall record of 6 - 5.

Mario Kart-
Jess Johnson was scheduled to begin the Mario Kart playoffs on Thursday as well. Johnson received a bye in the first round. Then unfortunately, his opponent from Mississippi Gulf Coast College was forced to forfeit round 2 to Johnson. Johnson will play in round 3 on Monday against a new opponent from Somerset Community College at 5pm.

Results from Wednesday 04-08-26

Madden NFL-

Akele Powdrill ran the playoff gauntlet on Wednesday, starting with his first opponent from Eastern Georgia State College. The two teams traded sets, with Powdrill coming out on top in the 3rd. He won 2 -1 and advanced to the next round.

In the second matchup of the evening, Powdrill took on Forsyth Technical Community College. Again, the two players traded sets back to back. In the end, Powdrill fell to FTCC 1 - 2.

He ends the semester with a 1 - 3 record in post-season, and an 8 - 4 record overall.

Results from Tuesday 04-07-26

Fortnite-

The Saints Fortnite Black team (Henry Perez and Jess Johnson) completed their set against Dawson Community College. The first round was extremely close with the win going to the Saints. The second round, Perez and Johnson won handily. They finished the night 2 - 0. Their record in postseason is 2 - 1, with an overall record of 6 - 4.

The duo advance to the Spring semi-finals where they will face off against Forsyth Technical Community College on Thursday, April 9th at 5pm.

Results from Monday 04-06-26

Marvel Rivals -

The Saints Rivals team (Eli Hackett, Jess Johnson, Edward Rios, Gerson Alaniz, Oscar Gonzalez and Akele Powdrill) fought against Harrisburg Area Community College on Monday in the first round of their playoff bid. The Saints had a very difficult time defending against the HACC dive-heavy composition and fell on the night 0 - 3. They end the post season with a record of 1 - 2. Their final overall season record is 4 - 7.

"The guys fought well this year. We definitely struggled in the beginning but were really starting to get some synergy," Coach Volden said. "We have identified some core areas to work on for next Fall. I'm confident we'll be a top tier contender."

Fortnite-

The Saints Fortnite Black team (Henry Perez and Jess Johnson) had their battle royale against another Forsyth Technical Community College team this week. The Saints had this one fully under control and won on the night 2 - 0. Their record is 1 - 1 in qualifiers and 5 - 4 on the regular season. Playoffs being Tuesday, April 7th

Results from Wednesday 04-01-26

Madden NFL-

Akele Powdrill took on Highland Community College in his qualifier matchup on Wednesday. The two players traded back to back sets, bringing the game to the final set. Powdrill couldn't overcome the HCC player and fell on the night 1 - 2. His record is 0 - 2 for qualifying rounds and 7 - 3 overall. His first playoff round will begin at 5pm on April 8th.

Results from Monday 03-30-26

Marvel Rivals -

The Saints Rivals team (Eli Hackett, Jess Johnson, Edward Rios, Gerson Alaniz, Oscar Gonzalez and Akele Powdrill) had one last round of qualifying matches to play against Luzerne County Community College on Monday. The Saints dropped the first game in their best of 5 series, but roared back to take the set 3 - 1. Their record in qualifiers goes to 1 - 1, with their overall record at 4 - 6.

Playoffs begin Monday, April 4th with seeding determined by the qualifying rounds.

Results from Thursday 03-26-26

Mario Kart -

Jess Johnson rolled up to the starting line against Rose State College Thursday evening. In the first match of qualifiers, Johnson quickly took out his opponent, winning the set 4 -1.

In the second round of qualifiers for the evening, he raced against Somerset Community College. The match went down to the wire, all 7 rounds. In the end, Johnson couldn't come out on top and lost 3 - 4. His record is 1 - 1 in qualifiers, and 9 - 3 overall.

Coach Volden said, "When NJCAAE has a lot of players in a single game during post season, they'll often play multiple matches a night to start sorting out the top from the bottom. Mario Kart has a lot of participants, so they often race twice, sometimes three times an evening."

Madden NFL-

Akele Powdrill also squared up against Forsyth Tech on Wednesday evening on the virtual gridiron. It was a tough battle, but Powdrill fell on the night 0 - 2. His record is 0 - 1 for qualifying rounds and 7 - 2 overall.

Esports qualifying rounds determine placement and seeding for playoff contention. Playoffs begin April 6th.

Qualifying Rounds

Marvel Rivals -

The Saints Rivals team (Eli Hackett, Jess Johnson, Edward Rios, Gerson Alaniz, Oscar Gonzalez and Akele Powdrill) were paired up against Wake Tech Community College last night in the first round of qualifying matches before playoffs. The Saints had a tough time fighting back against a heavy dive composition. In the end, they fell to WTCC 0 - 3. Their Record is 0 - 1 in qualifiers, 3 - 6 overall.

Saints Esports hosted their 3rd Annual High School LAN on Saturday, March 21st. Students from Liberal, Hugoton, Moscow, Southwestern Heights, and Guymon participated in Super Smash Brothers and Mario Kart tournaments in the esports lab.

Congratulations to Landon Crelly from Guymon. He won both tournaments. The traveling trophies head back to Guymon for a year.

Results from Thursday 03-12-26

Mario Kart-

Jess Johnson raced against the #1 ranked player from Heartland Community College for his set, heading into the final stretch of the season. Johnson had a tough time keeping up with the HCC player and fell 0 - 4. Johnson's record moves to 8 - 2

Edward Rios took on Redlands Community College in his matchup. Rios won a quick 4 - 0. His record goes to 2 - 8

Adam Johnston had a tough race against Highland Community College this week. Itemization got the best of the Saints player and Johnston fell 2 - 4. HIs record goes to 2 - 6

Joshua Vasquez went the distance with his foe from Moberly Area Community College. In the final race, Vasquez came out on top 4 - 3. His record goes to 5 - 3.

Juan Acevedo squared up against Richard Bland College for his set. It was another race that came down to the wire. In the 7th round, Acevedo fell to a well placed bomb on the track and dropped the set 3 - 4. His record is 3 - 5.

The Saints have one more week of regular competition before playoff qualifiers begin.
