📣 Event Update – BAD Shed Hunt 📣

We want to share an update regarding BAD’s Inaugural Shed Hunt scheduled for February 14–15 in Central Texas.

At this time, we have made the decision to postpone the event. A new date is TBD.

This decision was not made lightly. Our priority is to ensure that when we launch BAD shed hunts, we do it the right way—with the quality, fairness, and experience our handlers and dogs deserve.

We truly appreciate everyone’s excitement, support, and patience as we work through the final details. We’ll share updated information as soon as a new date is confirmed.

Thank you for sticking with us and for supporting Bad Dog Dog Sports. We’re looking forward to bringing this event to life very soon. 🐾

We’re officially kicking things off — 𝐁𝐀𝐃 - 𝐁𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐀𝐥𝐥 𝐀𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝 is proud to announce our 𝐅𝐈𝐑𝐒𝐓-𝐄𝐕𝐄𝐑 Shed Hunt event, and we’re bringing it to 𝐂𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐓𝐞𝐱𝐚𝐬 this Valentine’s Day weekend!

Whether you’re a seasoned shed dog team or brand new to the sport, this weekend is all about:

The 𝐨𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐁𝐀𝐃 𝐒𝐡𝐞𝐝 𝐇𝐮𝐧𝐭 𝐑𝐮𝐥𝐞𝐛𝐨𝐨𝐤 𝐢𝐬 𝐥𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐫𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐨𝐝𝐚𝐲! This rulebook establishes the standards for competition, including divisions, scoring, judging criteria, and handler expectations for all BAD-sanctioned shed hunt events.

📘 𝐈𝐦𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐍𝐨𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐞:
While the rulebook is officially released, it is 𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫 𝐟𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐫𝐞𝐯𝐢𝐞𝐰. Minor updates or clarifications 𝐦𝐚𝐲 𝐛𝐞 𝐦𝐚𝐝𝐞 𝐚𝐬 𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐝𝐞𝐝. Any changes will be 𝐜𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐥𝐲 𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐝 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐝 prior to being enforced at events.

We truly can’t say enough about our host facility, Black Label Kennels. Their dock is really built for dogs to fly, and the property is just gorgeous and so spacious! Thank you for allowing us to break in your dock. Guaranteed to be a place where all dogs love to jump.

🚨 One Week Out! 🚨
We’re just 𝑜𝑛𝑒 𝑤𝑒𝑒𝑘 𝑎𝑤𝑎𝑦 from the 𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐮𝐠𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐁𝐃𝐒 𝐃𝐨𝐜𝐤 𝐄𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐭, and we couldn’t be more excited to kick things off!

Our goal is to have 𝟐𝟎+ 𝐭𝐞𝐚𝐦𝐬 competing each day—and we’re almost there! For this example, let’s break down the 𝐩𝐚𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 based on 20 teams:

🏆 Each team will be ranked 1–20 by their 𝐥𝐨𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐣𝐮𝐦𝐩 𝐩𝐞𝐫 𝐝𝐢𝐯𝐞..
📊 Teams will then be split into 𝐟𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐠𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐩𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐟𝐨𝐮𝐫.
💸 The top dog in each group wins $𝟕𝟓—so placements 𝟏𝐬𝐭, 𝟓𝐭𝐡, 𝟗𝐭𝐡, 𝟏𝟑𝐭𝐡, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝟏𝟕𝐭𝐡 will each earn a check. Example below.

And here’s the best part:
Each day includes 𝐟𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐝𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐬, giving every team 𝐟𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐰𝐢𝐧.

A single team could take home up to $𝟑𝟎𝟎/𝐝𝐚𝐲 by winning all four dives!

No confusing divisions. No complicated rules.

🐾 𝐁𝐀𝐃 𝐃𝐨𝐠 𝐒𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐬 𝐃𝐨𝐜𝐤: 𝐔𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐅𝐥𝐨𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐒𝐜𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐒𝐲𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐦! 🐾

Hey, BAD Dog Sports community! We’re excited to share how our dock competition rewards top performers with our Floating Scoring System! 🏆 Here’s a simple breakdown to help you understand how it works:

In each dive (a round where your dog gets three jumps, with the longest counting as the score), we rank all dogs from longest to shortest jump. Then, we split them into five equal groups, each representing 20% of the total competitors. The dog with the longest jump in each group wins a cash prize! 💰

𝐄𝐱𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐞: If 100 dogs compete in a dive:

• The top 20 dogs (longest jumps) from Group 1, and the dog with the longest jump in this group wins the Group 1 prize.

• Dogs 21–40 from Group 2, and the top jumper in this group wins.

• This continues for Groups 3 (dogs 41–60), 4 (dogs 61–80), and 5 (dogs 81–100).
