Repost from

Fat Loss!!!

Believe it or not fat loss is actually quite simple. What makes it complicated is the crazy amount of false advertising everywhere you scroll.

This Thursday myself and the rest of our professional coaches are giving a free seminar on 5 things that are widely accepted for fat loss but actually tend to make you gain more adipose tissue.

We hope to see you there so you can help us spread some truth about living long and healthy lives.

Tell a buddy, bring a friend. You have an entire seat but you will only need the edge!

Fitness tip: Be the tortoise 🐢 not the hare 🐇

from both a physiological and a mental standpoint, it is far better to start a little bit slower and ramp up your effort over time.

Going too hard, too soon might make you feel like you work hard, but remember that how much you sweat isn’t necessarily a sign of an effective workout.

Instead, opt for a pace you can sustain for the entire tea of your workout. You will get fitter, and not just tired😊

Struggle with energy slumps?

your energy during the day is a reflection of your sleep quality at night. Better sleep starts with improving your bedtime routine.

try these tips for great sleep, and intern, great energy!

🌒 turn down the ceiling lights
🌒 stop eating two hours before bed
🌒 turn off electronics and screens 60 to 90 minutes before bed
🌒 relax: belly breathe, journal, meditate, love
🌒 swap TV for a good book
🌒 keep your bedroom cool and dark

with the knowledge 💣. The calories in alcohol lack the nutrients beneficial for a healthy metabolism and stop the fat burning process for up to 10-hours. 💥

We’re not saying you can’t ever have a drink again. We just want you to be informed. 👇🏼

🍷When you consume alcohol your body stops burning fat and immediately goes into alcohol burning mode. Until your body has completely processed the alcohol, which can take up to 10 hours, it is not burning fat.

This means that alcohol is actually slowing down your progress and the hard work you are putting in at the gym and in the kitchen. 🍽

🍻By having a couple drinks a night or even weekly, you are ultimately slowing down your fat loss. Most alcoholic drinks are carb heavy, which starts insulin production and leads to increased fat storage.

🛌 Alcohol also has a huge impact on your sleep cycles which is essential for fat loss. Alcohol creates an imbalance between slow-wave sleep and REM sleep, which decreases overall sleep quality and increases sleep disruption.

It is well known that when training in the gym, we must have a solid foundation of quality movement before we can move to more complex or heavier exercises. ⁣

We take this same approach to nutrition.⁣

Rather than skipping ahead to macros and supplements, we honor the basics first.

From eating your veggies to drinking enough water to properly chewing your food, all of these small steps add up to a massive difference (and don't require you to weigh and measure everything you eat!).

Sure, there's a time and place for some people to track macros, but OPEX Coaches look at these 10 areas first.

Ready to nail the basics and reap the benefits? Come check us out with our 4 Week Trial!!

You don’t need to workout in the gym for an hour every day to stay healthy. You just need to get outside and get active!

Here are a few ideas to increase daily movement:
➡️ Take a few 10-15 minutes walks throughout the day (we like to start/finish days with walks and schedule them for after meals)
➡️ Take the stairs instead of the elevator
➡️ Park further away
➡️ Schedule walking meetings or take calls while strolling
➡️ Check out YouTube for accessible at-home yoga flows
➡️ Spend 10-15 minutes doing a cooldown walk or bike if you do go to the gym

Pick one from this list and make it a habit! It’s actually pretty simple to add a bit of movement to your day.

Tag an accountability buddy in the comments and get moving! 🏃‍♀️

The phrase “work smarter, not harder” may be a cliche, but it’s advice to heed when approaching your workouts.

It's common to think that feeling exhausted, sweaty, and completely destroyed by a tough workout means faster results.

While in this world of instant gratification, the adrenaline rush and feeling of intensity may make us feel like we're getting fitter, the reality is that this type of effort is rarely sustainable and often ends a results plateau after the first few months.

Heavier, harder and faster is not always best. Sometimes, the best results come from slowing things down, prioritizing technique or moving at a sustainable pace.

Over time, a steady and consistent approach to exercise (in and out of the gym!) always wins.

To get the most out of your workout, you need to focus on what happens during your workout, and what happens in the time leading up to and after your workout.

So how do you maximize your training?

Step 1️⃣ Unwind and Unplug: Now is the time to stop thinking about what was stressing you out earlier in the day or yesterday. It’s time to unwind, clear your mind, and get ready to focus on your upcoming workout.

Step 2️⃣ Set your Intent and Focus: Think what short-term goals will help propel your long-term goals.

Step 3️⃣ Train, Enjoy, Socialize: When you are in the gym, enjoy the experience of training with a supportive community and remember how exercise enhances your life!

Step 4️⃣ Cooldown, Reflect, Input Results: The cooldown is a moment of reflection. Taking 5-10 minutes to think about what you learned during your training, what challenges you faced, and how each element affected you is a great way to create alignment between your training, your goals, and your life.

Step 5️⃣ Fuel, Rest, Recover: Recovery is king when it comes to results. If you’re not recovering, it doesn’t matter what you do in the gym.

Come check out our 4 week trial to see how we can help you maximize your training!
