Sifu Saleem and I treked off to NC on Saturday because we were craving really good Chinese food. Probably over-doing it a bit, but we were deprived, and it's almost Chinese New Year. Gong hei fat choi everyone! Riceblossom Charlotte, NC

Often Sifu Saleem is asked how he managed to train with several grand masters of Kung Fu. I think this picture says it all. Be like the Empty Vessel.

Sometimes during sparring, emotions can get a little heated. Think of any frustration and anger as a moment of training your emotional balance.

Over these 40 years, so many amazing things have happened. One of our most successful achievements was publishing Sifu Saleeem's first book, Musings of a Water Dragon. It was an easy compilation of random memories and thoughts on various aspects of Kung Fu. It was fun to write, and read apparently, as students who purchased it have enjoyed it, shared it with friends and family, and read it over several times. Its wisdom can be easily applied to life for everyone. We are thinking of another printing, so if anyone is interested, please let us know.

In 2008, Sifu Saleem became a disciple of Grand Master Kwong Wing Lam in a Bai Si ceremony with several other students of Grand Master Lam. Lam Tang hosted a number of workshops over the years, and Grand Master Lam was so tireless. After a day of teaching at the school, we would return home and he would tape off our living room floor and start teaching Sifu Saleem some Ba Gua or Pushing Hands until late into the evening. Even at the airport to return home =, he wouldn't waste a minute to get a little more teaching in. He was such a blessing in our lives!

Over the years, we have always had a little celebration dinner for the school anniversary. Sadly, our favorite Chinese restaurants disappeared during COVID, but we have fond memories of many fine meals at one of them.

During the early 1990's, Lam Tang was located on Rosewood Drive in Columbia, SC in a very old building. The school was turned over to the care of two former students, when Sifu Saleem moved out of state in 1998. Returning a few months later, he started another school on Blossom Street in West Columbia, planning to devote it to Tai Chi and Kung Fu, while teaching advanced Kung Fu at the prior school. The new school was named Circle's Center. After a few years, the old school closed and Circle's Center became the new Lam Tang. The curriculum was pretty tough at the time, but it turned out some pretty strong Kung Fu men, a few of which are still active in the school family.
