Night Coyote Season Is Now Open ππΊ
Starting today, December 1, hunters may legally use lights, IR, and thermal optics for nighttime coyote hunting in Kentucky.
Before you head out, remember:
πΈ Night hunting with lights/IR/thermals is allowed Dec. 1 β March 31 and May 16 β June 30.
πΈ Lights or night-vision equipment cannot be mounted to or cast from a mechanized vehicle.
πΈ Hunters with a Mobility-Impaired Access Permit or Hunting Methods Exemption Vehicle Permit may hunt from a stationary vehicle, but lights/optics still cannot be connected to the vehicle.
πΈ On public lands after daylight: only bow, crossbow, or shotgun with multiple-projectile shells may be used.
πΈ No night hunting is allowed in counties or areas where a deer or elk firearm/muzzleloader season is open.
π Always check the Kentucky Hunting & Trapping Guide for full rules, and verify any additional regulations on the specific public land you plan to hunt.
Good luck and hunt safe, Kentucky! π
