We are pleased to announce that Lyniah Williams has been awarded the 2026 Tyler Hicks Memorial Scholarship. She becomes the 10th recipient of the scholarship since it began in 2015.
In her scholarship essay, Lyniah talked of the obstacles she overcame as a young kid after her dad passed away and the ways she became a stronger person and leader following this tragedy.
Lyniah was the manager for the Scott County Lady Cardinals Basketball team, a member of the National Honor Society, Gifted and Talented Program and the marching band. Being a part of all of these organizations and teams makes her "Proud and honored to be a Scott County Cardinal"
Lyniah plans to attend Spalding University in the fall with a goal of becoming an athletic trainer in either collegiate or professional sports.
Presenting the scholarship is Ashley Hicks, Wyler Hicks and Tim Glenn on behalf of the Tyler Hicks Memorial Scholarship committee.
