Dear Mana Volleyball Families,

It is with a very heavy heart that I share the news that Mana Volleyball Academy will be taking a break.

This decision has not been made lightly, and it comes after much reflection and prayer. Over the past three years, we have had the privilege of serving more than 400 incredible athletes, about 35% of who received financial aid. This alone is a victory as my initial goal was to provide an equitable opportunity for every athlete to grow in a sport they love regardless of their resources.

Together, we’ve built something truly special — a community full of passion, growth, and love for the game. Through competition, teamwork, and countless memories, we’ve created “little families” all across Central Kentucky, and those bonds will always remain a part of who we are.

The love, respect, and commitment shared among our athletes, families, coaches, and staff have been nothing short of inspiring. As I enter a new phase of life, I’ve realized that something in my world must shift, and it’s time for me to dedicate more of my time and energy to my growing family. While closing this chapter is deeply emotional, my heart is filled with gratitude for every player, parent, and coach who helped make Mana Volleyball my dream come true.

I am hopeful that opportunities — perhaps even a new local league — will arise in the future, especially for our younger athletes. Please know that the Mana Volleyball Family will always be rooting for you, no matter where your journey takes you.

A huge congratulations to all the athletes who just wrapped up High Tryouts! 🙌 Whether you made a team or not, your hard work, dedication, and passion for the game do not go unnoticed. We are so proud of each of you for putting in your best effort on the court. 💪🏼

To those who made a team, we can’t wait to see you hit the ground running this season! To those who didn’t, remember this is just one chapter of your journey—stay motivated, keep working, and we look forward to seeing you continue to grow as athletes.

We have some exciting news for the upcoming Fall Ball season! Fall Ball registration and full details will be posted this afternoon, 📅 For our athletes in the Fayette/Woodford areas, we’ve made sure that Fall Break is guaranteed OFF, and Session 1 will be perfectly timed so it won't interfere with the Middle School season. Fall Ball is the PERFECT transition for those wanting to stay fresh while in the off-season or those wanting to try volleyball out for the first time! Instruction is fundamentals focused and includes daily gane play. Keep an eye on our website and social media pages for more!

📣 Important Update for Mana Volleyball Families – Kentucky Bill 181📣

Hey Mana families! We want to take a moment to highlight a new law in Kentucky – Bill 181 – that directly impacts youth sports and how we protect our athletes both on and off the court.

What is Bill 181?
This bill strengthens boundaries between minors and authority figures, including coaches, by limiting direct one-on-one electronic communication and personal connections on social media between adults in positions of power and the youth they serve.

🏐 What this means for us:

Coaches should not be connected to players on social media.
No private DMs or texts between coaches and athletes.
All communication should go through team group chats or parent-inclusive channels (like GroupMe, TeamSnap, etc.)

✅ What we’re asking parents to do:

1. Check your athlete’s social media and remove any coaches from their friend/follow list.
2. Remind your athlete to communicate only through approved team channels.
3. If you have any concerns or questions, reach out to us directly.
4. If your athlete does private lessons with our coaches, ENSURE that future scheduling and communication is between coach and parents. Athletes should NO LONGER be addressing coaches any other way than through parent communication or traceable communication, like a school email.

At Mana, our top priority is the safety and well-being of our players and staff. I understand this may be difficult to navigate as we have taught our athletes for the last 3 years to be accountable and responsible for their communication. As this develops we will do our best to keep you updated.
