The Ballet Conservatory opened its doors in 1991, under the direction of Mrs. Lannin established an excellent reputation in Lewisville for training dancers and nurturing talent and enthusiastically brought together a highly-qualified faculty to join her to provide the best instruction in all areas of dance including classical ballet and pointe, jazz, modern dance, tap and hip hop. Each faculty mem
ber is an expert in their respected fields with professional experience and many hold college degrees in dance as well. Our faculty members offer encouragement and support; treating each child with respect as an individual. In addition to our outstanding professional faculty, the school also recognizes the importance of bringing in esteemed guest instructors. We have many successful alumni including professional dancers in major companies such as New York City Ballet, Pacific Northwest Ballet, Miami City Ballet, San Francisco Ballet, Tulsa Ballet and others. Ballet Conservatory received the prestigious award of ”Outstanding School” by the Youth America Grand Prix Organization for the Southwest Region in 2008, 2009, 2017, and 2018 and our Director, Kelly Lannin, has been honored with its “Outstanding Teacher Award” four times. BC has also received the Reader’s Choice Awards multiple times for “Best Dance Studio” in Denton County by the Lewisville Leader Readers, Dallas Morning News Neighbors Go and The Flower Mound News Connection. Ballet Conservatory is home to the LakeCities Ballet Theatre and LakeCities Ballet Theatre II, Lewisville’s only not-for-profit Ballet Company. Ballet Conservatory students may audition and participate in their annual Holiday Classic of the Nutcracker which has been named twice in the Dallas Morning News Top 10 Dance Events in the Metroplex. Our Studio Company, Intensity Dance Company (IDC) is directed by Rachael Clark and focuses on Jazz, Tap, Contemporary and Hip Hop. They perform locally and in Dallas and in two dance competitions per year. All of our companies receive top honors at local, national and international competitions.
