The start of the 2024 Jack's Mtn 10U season started over the weekend and although the boys fell short of the gold they still came away with some hardware!
Day one started off strong as the boys beat Kings Academy 20-0. However, game two our bats went quiet and we fell short to the eventual champions, Cedar Cliff Colts, 7-3. We ended the day 1-1 and clinched the #3 seed.
Our back was up against the wall on day two as we had to run the table to get to the championship game but the boys were up to the challenge! Game one was all about the bats as we beat Happy Valley Heat 18-2 with a big 3 run homer from Carter Long followed by a bowling pin celebration that his teammates were calling for as he rounded 3rd! Game two the boys battled some adversity after falling behind 3-0 to the West Branch Mud Dogs but it didn't take long to put up 7 runs to eventually beat the #2 seed 15-9 to head to the championship game!
The championship game against the Colts was a pitching and defensive battle all game as both teams showed great strength at both. However, it was the Colts that sneaked by at the end to win 7-5.
Despite coming up short in the championship game, the boys showed promise in the most important aspects of the game and we look to continue to build off that this season!
