We have had no one reach out to take over our Little League. We are going to go ahead and push foward with the consolidation of our league with Cg. You can continue to sign up online on our website, or you can sign up on Central Greenbrier lIttle leagues page or look for their post regarding in person sign ups. My suggestion to make this as easy as possible, if your interested in playing in Wss if the numbers allow it, go ahead and sign up on our page so we can try to keep them separate. If you go to in person sign ups but still would like to play in Wss, put WSS at the top of the registration.
Again, numbers for our league and Cg will dictate if keeping teams in Wss is an option. Make sure to get signed up as soon as possible….
It’s been fun and we thank all of our current and former players, coaches, board members and parents for all your support over the last 10 years I’ve been involved. With every youth sport in decline, we feel this is the best option for our kids to continue to play the game, have resources for the game and play on more competitive teams. We are searching for someone to take over our Little League in Wss. We would need several volunteers to take over the positions on the board. The current boards time has come to an end. We are considering a Merge with Central Greenbrier if no one is willing to take over. We are the last of the leagues on this end of the county who have not merged as one Little League. Alderson, Lewisburg, and Ronceverte have all merged into one league. With declining numbers in every area and every age group, it is my personal opinion that is time for us to merge as well. That doesn’t mean there won’t be little league in Wss though. If there are enough kids to have teams in Wss, we will still have teams over here. If the numbers aren’t there, our kids would be able to go to Central Greenbrier and play. the major changes would be on the administrative side of it. We have until Friday to iron this out so any questions, concerns or you are interested in taking over, please reach out to us on messenger. For those that have already signed up, and we decide to merge, we will transfer everything over for you.…..
Again, this doesn’t mean we won’t be playing in Wss if the numbers allow it, just means we won’t be Wss Little League anymore, we will be under CG. And just an FYI, this isn’t a one person job, it takes a village to make little league work.
