Henry Horton State Park Trap and Skeet Range

The Tennessee State S***t Championship was held at Henry Horton State Park Trap and S***t Range on Friday August 21st through Sunday August 23rd.

The Doubles event was held on Friday afternoon, the 12 and 20 gauge events were held on Saturday and the .410 and 28 gauge events were held on Sunday. It was a great weekend of shooting at the range. Shooters from all over the state of Tennessee converged on Henry Horton State Park and even had a couple out of state shooters as well.
There were 2 locals that practice at Henry Horton State Park Trap and S***t range that competed and shot well in the tournament, Thomas Benderman and Mike Williams.

Harold Smith and Ed Hope (picture 2) ran the tournament and did an excellent job. Brian Carter (picture 3) won the .410ga and Highest overall. John Michael Baggett won 12ga, 20ga, 28ga, and doubles.

Thank you to everyone who came out to shoot or support, it was an amazing weekend.

We will be hosting the State Championship S***t Shoot this weekend, Friday through Saturday, at the Henry Horton Trap and S***t Range.

Please expect high traffic levels at the range this weekend. The Trap fields will remain open throughout the event, however s***t fields will be closed for competitors.

The public is welcome to come view the competition. The first rounds are scheduled for Friday, August 21st at 3:30. Round are schedule for 9am on Saturday and Sunday, August 22nd and 23rd.

We ask for patience in this busy time and we are excited to see all the fantastic shooters visiting this weekend.

Join us for the Henry Horton State Park Fall Trap Shooting League, a 6-week competition designed for shooting enthusiasts of all skill levels. Test your accuracy and consistency in a friendly yet competitive environment.

Duration: 6 Weeks - September 12th through October 17th

Start Time: 11 AM kick-off meeting on September 12th; Shooting at 12:00 PM every Saturday

Cost: $165 for all 6 weeks

Did you know that Henry Horton State Park hosts 2 ‘fun league' Trap Leagues a year? Each year we host a Spring and Fall league that meets every Saturday at 12pm for 6 weeks. Each week participants will shoot a round at 16 and 21 yards totaling 50 shots each week. Participants are competing for three different awards; Best 16 Yard Line, Best 21 Yard Line, and High Overall that are presented at the end of the season during a cookout that provides everyone an opportunity to look back on the last six weeks together.

Our first Trap League was held in the Spring of 2025 and had 14 participants. We just completed our Spring Trap League for 2026 and had a total of 33 participants. We have male and female participants of all ages and skill levels ranging from 12 to 70 years of age. It is a perfect introduction for all ages and skill levels into the sport of Trap Shooting.

Learning a new sport can be intimidating, but we’ve got you covered with our next introduction session!

Join us Saturday, May 30th for a special session dedicated to giving guest a small group tour and introduction to using the Trap and S***t Range at Henry Horton.

This is the prefect event for first time shooters and kids looking to get into the sport. Kids must be 12 year or older and accompanied by an adult to participate in this program.

The cost of the program includes all of the materials needed to get started, including a gun rental, safety gear, ammo, and targets.
