Speed
Higher speed does not mean the disc flies further. Speed represents the aerodynamics and rim width of the disc. A 13-speed disc requires a faster arm speed to fly correctly. If you don’t throw it fast enough, it will simply fade out early and act overly stable. think of it as the gear of a car. You wouldn’t start a car in 5th gear. Speed 12–14 requires a fast arm (like a highway), while Speed 5–7 is great for everyday throwing (like city streets).
Glide
Glide is the disc’s ability to maintain lift in the air. A higher glide number (like 5 or 6) keeps the disc airborne longer, which helps players with slower arm speeds. A lower glide number (like 2 or 3) cuts through the wind and drops quickly.
Turn
Turn is the high-speed stability of the disc. It refers to how much the disc moves to the right (for a right-hand backhand throw) during the fastest part of the flight (right after it leaves your hand). A -1 means a slight drift to the right, while a -4 means the disc will aggressively sweep to the right, and a 0 means it resists turning at high speeds.
Fade
Fade is the low-speed stability of the disc. As the disc slows down at the end of its flight, it naturally falls out of the air. Fade dictates how hard it hooks to the left (for a right-hand backhand throw) at the very end. A 0 means it lands flat, while a 4 means it has a strong, dependable hook at the end.
