💛 HACK CANCER: AWARENESS THAT LEADS TO ACTION 💛

Hack Cancer began with something deeply personal, but its mission has grown to support everyone affected by cancer—the person fighting, their loved ones, and those honoring someone they’ve lost.

🎗️ Our mission is connection, support and action.

Through Hack Cancer, we aim to:

💛 Support those currently battling
💛 Celebrate survivors
💛 Honor those who have gone before us
💛 Share stories that create awareness and hope
💛 Provide Chemo Care Kits to patients receiving treatment
💛 Build a connected network for patients, families and supporters

Making a difference can be as simple as sponsoring a care kit, sharing a story, connecting families, supporting a fundraiser, or reminding someone they are seen and supported.

Ballpark Heaven, Ballpark Developments, and Hack Cancer are excited to announce the addition of Shannon Erb to our teams!

Shannon is a Decatur County local, and brings two decades of experience in project management, economic development, marketing, and operations to the team. Based on her skills, she will serve in a broad leadership role to support operations, marketing, fundraising and grant writing, strategic planning, operational excellence, and more across the organizations.

As we make progress toward breaking ground on phase one of Ballpark Heaven, and as we continue to seek investors, Shannon’s connections and skills will help us expedite this project as we work hard to make it a reality.

Shannon is invested in her local community, volunteering on many boards, and managing her local movie theatre. She thrives on finding efficiencies, creating processes, and providing support so founders can do what they do best.

⚾️ The journey to Destin begins! 🌊💛

This week, Hack Cancer 5.0 takes the field at the Destin PG World Series—but they’re playing for something much bigger than baseball.

These young athletes are connected by their love of the game, but even more by a mission to bring hope, serve others, and make a difference in the lives of families facing cancer. Every inning they play represents resilience, compassion, and the power of using sports to impact the world beyond the diamond.

Please join us in welcoming the Hack Cancer boys to Destin, Florida, and wish them the very best as they compete, serve, and represent a cause that matters.

⚾️💛 Hack Cancer Elite 13U has taken on Omaha and the iconic SlumpBuster Tournament!
Athletes from across Iowa—and even one Floridian with Iowa roots—have come together to compete, represent a cause, and leave an impact far beyond the baseball field.
What started as a group of players has quickly become one team, building a foundation of strength, resilience, support, pride, and perspective.
These boys are grinding on the field, but they’re also investing in something bigger than baseball. Between games, they have been assembling Cancer Care Kits and writing notes of encouragement for future patients and families facing some of life’s toughest battles.
They’re not just learning how to give back—they’re embracing it, practicing it, and living it.
We are proud of the athletes they are becoming and even more proud of the young men they are growing into. Keep competing. Keep serving. Keep making a difference. 💛⚾️

This weekend was bigger than wins and stats.

Energy was unlocked.
Mindsets shifted.
The focus moved from self to service.

After starting the day with two big wins, the boys traveled to the headquarters of their sponsor, Lift Energy, where they were poured into just as much as they pour out on the field.

They were fed.
They listened to a speaker.
They were challenged to think beyond the game.

And then… they went to work.

These young men packed Cancer Care Kits for chemo and radiation patients at a local Florida hospital — using their own hands to build hope for someone they may never meet.

They wrote words of encouragement.
They prayed over packages.
They stepped into the mission.

They didn’t just wear the logo this weekend.
They lived it.

This is Hack Cancer.
This is purpose.
This is playing for something bigger. 💛
