After a triple OT win in the semifinals and a 2nd half comeback in the championship, the Fitchburg Red Raiders are your 2026 Division II State Champion!!!

Good luck to the four (4) Central Massachusetts high schools, and all of the LFFL girls, who have qualified for tonight’s Patriots Girls HS Flag State Championships at Merrimack College! Admission is free. Game times below.

In Division I, #1 Leominster (18-0) and #6 Wachusett (15-3) will look to make it an all-Central Mass final, but will need to get past #4 Westford Academy (16-2) and #2 St. Mary’s (16-0), respectively, in the semifinals. The semifinals are at 7:30pm with the championship at 8:15pm.

In Division II, #6 Fitchburg (12-7) meets #2 Archbishop Williams (15-1), led by the LFFL’s Myla Ramos, in the semifinals. The winner will advance to the final and face off against the winner of #1 Peabody (17-1) vs #4 Arlington Catholic (14-4). The semifinals are at 6:00pm with the championship at 6:45pm.

In Division III, #15 South Lancaster Academy (9-10) will look to continue their Cinderella run against #3 Boston Cathedral, while #4 Pentucket and #9 Triton battle it out on the other side of the bracket. The semifinals are at 4:30pm with the championship at 5:15pm.

Congratulations to the LFFL’s Juan Miranda Jr. on being selected for the Dominican Republic 🇩🇴 Men’s National team!

Juan, a 2025 graduate of Leominster High School and current student at Bridgewater State University, was born in DR and recently traveled home to attend a tryout for the team. Juan’s athleticism and versatility will help the DR men’s team later this month at the IFAF Central America and Caribbean Championships in El Salvador, the first stop on their road to qualification for the 2028 Olympics!

Juan’s journey to represent the Dominican Republic began as a dream many years ago, before the DR national federation even had a national team. He spoke it into existence and seized the opportunity when it was presented. Congratulations, Juan, you earned it and we couldn’t be prouder of you!

Like the LFFL’s other national team athletes, Juan’s story should serve as an inspiration to the kids in the LFFL.

LFFL players and alumni are now currently representing four different national teams - USA 🇺🇸 , Puerto Rico 🇵🇷, Great Britain 🇬🇧 and Dominican Republic 🇩🇴. With players eligible for Ireland 🇮🇪, Brazil 🇧🇷 and Portugal 🇵🇹 (any others?), we haven’t seen the last of LFFL kids representing on the international stage!
