It is with a sad heart that I made the difficult decision to close Lenox TaeKwonDo after 28 years in martial arts.

My life just got more hectic than I want at this chapter in my life. My new career that I love, Lenox Chamber Coordinator, is just more demanding than I anticipated and I want to be available for my grandkids whenever needed. I've, also, started playing pickleball which gives me a good workout that I've not been getting in TaeKwonDo being a teacher. I do love TaeKwonDo and all of the people it has brought to me, instructors, students, co-trainers, and leaders from Iowa State University and beyond. It has been a joy and honor working with you. I am honored to be a 5th degree blackbelt and will not forget what I've learned.

But, when I stacked all of these things up, TaeKwonDo was at the bottom so I chose to let it go to take some pressure off of myself.

I am very sorry to my current students. I wish you the best in life and believe in you.

NO SOFT TAEKWONDO CLASS MONDAY

My dear TaeKwonDo family, in case you haven't heard, my dear mother passed away this morning.

Mr. Rogers will teach the Traditional TKD classes Monday and Wednesday and the Hensleys will be back to teach Soft TKD Wednesday evening.

Folks--this is what a warrior looks like. Valerie fought cancer and the board and won! All of the students and I celebrated with her as she slaughtered the "Kick Cancer" board we all signed wishing her well with her cancer fight.

She took that board to the hospital with her to remind her that her TKD family was pulling for her and how far she has come as a TaeKwonDo student. If you can get to blue belt, you can do anything, right, Valerie?

So proud of Valerie, aka Valiant Warrior, for kicking cancer. A few months ago, the TaeKwonDo students and I signed a "Kick Cancer" board for her that she took to the hospital for her surgery. Tonight, after testing, she BROKE that board! We all celebrated her beating cancer. It was a joyous moment. I love our TaeKwonDo family.

Students, you keep asking when I'll be ready to test for 6th degree black belt. Well, this popped up on my memories. I tested for 5th dan 6 years ago. That means I'm eligible to test now; or next blackbelt testing. Should I go for it? It would mean a lot of training since I've been teaching more than working out. Hmmmmmm....

10-15 years ago, we had all of our TKD classes in the Elementary gym.

Yay! Lenox has a new holiday event this year. Bright Lights Cruise Night on Wednesday evening. THAT means, as Chamber Coordinator, I WILL be busy.
I'm not cancelling Wednesday regular class yet. I'm hoping Mr. Rogers will feel better and can teach the class.
JD & Valerie Hensley will teach the 2nd Soft TKD class. Students may choose to go to that class if they wish. It is half hour of yoga and half hour of TKD.

Please consider driving up Main Street to see the lighted floats and windows. Start at the Depot and head north.
