Runner's Edge of Kansas City Kansas City's premier running and walking coaching and training program. It is a true representation of the Kansas City running and walking community.

We consist of people of all ages, all abilities, and all goals - from 14 to 72 year olds, from 7 minutes a mile runners to 20 minutes a mile walkers, from those trying to qualify for the Boston Marathon to those wanting to walk their first 5K.

Had the chance to grab a photo with Bruce Gilbert — the record holder for the most Hospital Hill Run finishes ever. This year marks his 48th Hospital Hill and an incredible 1,000 kilometers raced on this course over the years. Absolutely unreal dedication to the Kansas City running community. 👏

Running for a Hero: Miles’ Story -- In March 2024, just days after his 9th birthday, Miles Jacobsen was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor. After a grueling year of chemotherapy, Miles remains a beacon of joy, awaiting the next breakthrough in targeted therapy.

Despite the challenges, Miles hasn’t slowed down. He has turned to running to raise awareness and vital funds for the thousands of children facing their own cancer journeys. Because pediatric brain tumor research is the least funded in the country, Miles is taking the lead to change the future for himself and others.

On May 30, we are running for him. Proceeds from the Miles for Miles race go directly to The Children’s Brain Tumor Foundation, supporting families and funding cutting-edge medical research. Whether you take on the 1-Miler, the 5K, or the "Miles’ Challenge" (both!), you are helping fuel a cure.

Stick around after the finish line for our awards ceremony, Miles will be there personally handing out the medals!
