Ty’s techniques foster relaxed, yet responsive, partnerships between equestrians and their horses. When horses are fearful and anxious, they typically act in ways which are undesirable; these behaviors can be highly un-settling and even dangerous to their handlers. Ty promotes shifting a person’s mindset from focusing on merely the horse’s physical performance to how a horse responds, thinks, and

feels in relation to the guidance it receives. This shift, consequently, improves physical performance in a horse. The manner in which guidance is offered to a horse plays the crucial role in the partnership. A good partnership is developed not through what is asked of a horse, but rather in the art of how it is asked.
