Here’s the most recent information I’m regards to the NUIC All Star Game tomorrow night at Lion’s Park.

Here are some details for tomorrow.

NUIC All-Star Game
at Lena, Lions Park
June 17th
6:00PM first pitch
1 x 7 inning game
N/S vs West + LeWin

Full rosters are attached, you can tell players to plan to be there around 5:00 to have a chance to get some swings in the cages along with getting loose. If you have multiple dudes playing please have them all wear the same jersey color, either home/away, players choice.

Coaches similar to years past you can plan to bat everyone and open substitution in which we can discuss more prior to first pitch.

Plan to start pregame announcements around 5:45, we will announce both teams and recognize All-State players, have a moment of silence for our longtime friend/coach/umpire Mr. Scott Gallentine who recently passed away, Lena first responders throw out the first pitch, followed by the national anthem.

Weather plan - Coach Werhane and I will make the call by 1:00 tomorrow if we get hit by any weather. Unfortunately if we do get rained out due to field conflicts, time of year and busy schedules we do not have a rainout date this year and the event will just be cancelled. Lets just hope for good weather!!

We are so proud to announce that we have two players who were named to the 1A IHSBCA All State team. Luke Madigan and Aiden Wild were both selected, and very deserving! Congratulations to you both!

Unfortunately, our season came to an end tonight. With that being said, it doesn’t take away everything that the boys accomplished this year: conference championship, regional championship, 15 consecutive wins and 27 wins overall! Wow, that’s a lot to be proud of! Seniors, thank you all for everything you’ve done for the program! Go Panthers!

Lena-Winslow Varsity Panthers Come Up Short Against Dakota

Lena-Winslow Varsity Panthers lost to Dakota 7-4 on Wednesday at 601 E Main St.

Dakota opened the scoring in the first after Blocker singled, scoring one run.

Dakota committed an error, which helped Lena-Winslow Varsity Panthers tie the game at one in the bottom of the third.

Lena-Winslow Varsity Panthers took the lead, 3-1, in the bottom of the fourth thanks to singles by Jaden Schubert, and Easton Bardell.

Dakota flipped the game on its head in the top of the fifth, scoring five runs on two hits to take the lead, 6-3. The biggest blow in the inning was a single by McElyea that drove in two.

Mazurkiewicz hit a solo home run to center field in the top of the sixth for the Dakota.

Mazurkiewicz earned the win for Dakota. The starting pitcher surrendered five hits and three runs (two earned) over five and one-third innings, striking out eight and walking two. Khayne Albright took the loss for Lena-Winslow Varsity Panthers. The righty went one and two-thirds innings, surrendering six runs (one earned) on three hits, striking out none and walking two. Koby Kearns started on the mound for Lena-Winslow Varsity Panthers. The right-handed pitcher allowed three hits and one run over three and one-third innings, striking out three and walking three.

Miles Mahon led Lena-Winslow Varsity Panthers with two hits in four at bats. Schubert, Mahon, and Bardell each drove in one run for Lena-Winslow Varsity Panthers. Lena-Winslow Varsity Panthers turned one double play in the game.

Burke led Dakota with two hits in three at bats. Blocker and McElyea each drove in two runs for Dakota. Dakota turned one double play in the game.
