Unfortunately, our season came to an end tonight. With that being said, it doesn’t take away everything that the boys accomplished this year: conference championship, regional championship, 15 consecutive wins and 27 wins overall! Wow, that’s a lot to be proud of! Seniors, thank you all for everything you’ve done for the program! Go Panthers!

Lena-Winslow Varsity Panthers Come Up Short Against Dakota

Lena-Winslow Varsity Panthers lost to Dakota 7-4 on Wednesday at 601 E Main St.

Dakota opened the scoring in the first after Blocker singled, scoring one run.

Dakota committed an error, which helped Lena-Winslow Varsity Panthers tie the game at one in the bottom of the third.

Lena-Winslow Varsity Panthers took the lead, 3-1, in the bottom of the fourth thanks to singles by Jaden Schubert, and Easton Bardell.

Dakota flipped the game on its head in the top of the fifth, scoring five runs on two hits to take the lead, 6-3. The biggest blow in the inning was a single by McElyea that drove in two.

Mazurkiewicz hit a solo home run to center field in the top of the sixth for the Dakota.

Mazurkiewicz earned the win for Dakota. The starting pitcher surrendered five hits and three runs (two earned) over five and one-third innings, striking out eight and walking two. Khayne Albright took the loss for Lena-Winslow Varsity Panthers. The righty went one and two-thirds innings, surrendering six runs (one earned) on three hits, striking out none and walking two. Koby Kearns started on the mound for Lena-Winslow Varsity Panthers. The right-handed pitcher allowed three hits and one run over three and one-third innings, striking out three and walking three.

Miles Mahon led Lena-Winslow Varsity Panthers with two hits in four at bats. Schubert, Mahon, and Bardell each drove in one run for Lena-Winslow Varsity Panthers. Lena-Winslow Varsity Panthers turned one double play in the game.

Burke led Dakota with two hits in three at bats. Blocker and McElyea each drove in two runs for Dakota. Dakota turned one double play in the game.

We were treated to a meal tonight after practice in preparation for our Sectional semifinal game tomorrow. Thank you to Coach’s Golf and Grill and all the parents for putting everything together for us, and for making the delicious desserts! Game tomorrow is at Forreston against Dakota. Start time is 2pm. Pitching Impressive As Lena-Winslow Varsity Panthers Beat Eastland

Both teams were strong on the hill on Saturday, but Lena-Winslow Varsity Panthers defeated Eastland 3-1. Luke Madigan started the game for Lena-Winslow Varsity Panthers and recorded 21 outs.

Madigan struck out 14 batters on the day. The starting pitcher also gave up four hits and one run over seven innings while walking none.

Lena-Winslow Varsity Panthers got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after Miles Mahon hit a sacrifice fly, and Jaden Schubert singled, each scoring one run.

Lena-Winslow Varsity Panthers added one run in the second. Brody Cox grounded out, making the score 3-1.

Heckman took the loss for Eastland. The starting pitcher went six innings, giving up three runs (two earned) on five hits, striking out four and walking two.

Schubert, Aiden Wild, Madigan, Cox, and Easton Bardell each collected one hit for Lena-Winslow Varsity Panthers. Schubert, Cox, and Mahon each drove in one run for Lena-Winslow Varsity Panthers. Lena-Winslow Varsity Panthers turned one double play in the game.

Eastland's Spears, the number seven hitter, led Eastland with two hits in two at bats.
