Sly Fox Wrestling Club Youth and High school wrestling club looking to grow the sport in Wilmington and all over North Carolina.

Sly Fox Wrestling Club is a brand new USA WRESTLING AFFILIATED club in the Wilmington area. We will be bringing Folkstyle, Freestyle and Greco wrestling to WILMINGTON, NC while promoting this great and exciting sport to the CAROLINAS. Our Club is a place where serious young athletes are given the opportunity to train at a very high level which will ultimately help them achieve excellence. What fur

ther makes our club unique is that we are offering superior high level, international standards of coaching and thereby offer opportunities for regional clubs and schools to benefit and improve their skills and training programs. Our coach Willie Hilton is USA Coaches Bronze certified. Willie is a 3x NCAA All American wrestler and has coached several wrestlers to All-American and National Champion Status. Wrestling is not only the best sport to fully develop children physically, it also teaches children self confidence, discipline, hard work ethic, mental and physical toughness and determination. Our club will focus and teach these necessary skills to survive in a highly competitive world. We realize that everyone can't be a World/Olympic champion so we are helping our kids use wrestling as a catalyst to teach life lessons as well as potentially earn a scholarship to a good college. The ultimate goal is to give young men and women experiences and opportunities that will teach them leadership skills.

Another productive weekend for our kids! The majority competed at Toys For Tots at The Spot! While Luke Miller was the lone rookie to compete in the Viking Rookie Invitational! Just watching to clips and seeing the results the message remains the same, we have to be more disciplined and less emotional in all facets of this sport and life!

More Sly Fox kids competing this weekend! Gabe and SJ Anceravage along with Bentley Weaver went to the 1st Annual PJ Smith Memorial Tournament and all had good showings with Bentley bringing home 3 🥈medals! Meanwhile Henry Straw traveled to Clarion PA to scrap for the weekend where he brought home a tournament title!

Super proud of our guys! On the right we had two Onslow county champs (Marcus Rodriguez and Dylan Pfeffer) and on the left a small group of 4 of our club kids went up to Virginia Beach for the VAC Holiday duals! Not the results our kids would have liked but our kids wrestled with effort and intent! Will Moorehead was able to come home with an 8-2 record which gave him All American honors! Our other guys (TJ, Jake and Cohen) were able to pick up a few wins but definitely performed better than they have in the past here.

It was a good weekend of wrestling with kids competing up and down the east coast. We took a total of 9 kids to the NCWAY Christmas Classic here in NC, while Zakk Kulas wrestled at the Bear duals and individual tournament for Roundtree Wrestling Academy in TN and Will Moorehead competed at the Battle of the Nook in PA. Special shout out to our lone rookie who competed this weekend and brought home his first ever 🥇! Overall it was a great weekend with our kids slowly putting things together, listening and wrestling the right way, the Sly Fox way! Really proud of the way our guys are competing but even more proud of the brotherhood they’re building with each other!

I was pleasantly surprised with the high school kids willing to come in after their school practice tonight! I’ve been saying it since I made the move down here, kids that are willing to double up on their mat time tend to have more success in the long run. It has to be done with consistency though, hopefully this becomes a trend and isn’t an anomaly!
