I’m told that I was riding with my father, before I could even walk. Over the years; breaking, training, and giving lessons have became a big part of my life. I have found an approach to training, that has allowed me to turn out happy and willing horses, that respect their rider/owner. To get the most from your horse, you must sit back and think about what is truly going on. He may have had a bad

experience, doesn’t understand what you want from him, afraid, medical problem, or he may even be defiant. Once you figure that out, it is all down hill. Hitting, beating, pulling, and using chains, is not the answer! It may work for the short term, but will only cause other issues down the road. Patience and instilling confidence, in both the horse and rider, is the goal. Both must enjoy the job at hand, in order to be successful. The key to turn out an excellent horse in every discipline from eventing, barrel racing, dressage, or trail riding, is time and patience. Remember, good things come to those who have patience, and take the time to nurture.

Sophia and Lilly ended this year’s lessons on a high note. Sophia’s first time trotting on her own. Thank you Lilly Bug for taking care of another little one!!!
