⭐️ Exciting news for your Friday! We’re excited to introduce our newest team member Katie Lowe! Katie will be teaching out of our Asheville location and she’s ready to talk to you to see how she can help you reach your riding goals! Read her bio below and reach out to us to meet with her.
I have had a lifelong passion for horses that began at eight years old. I started in western riding and barrel racing before transitioning to English disciplines by age ten. In those early years, volunteering at pony camps and trail rides sparked my love for teaching and a deep competitive drive in hunters, jumpers, and equitation.
My foundational training comes from serving as a working student under two of the nation’s leading hunter/jumper trainers: Sharon Enteen of Falcon Ridge Stables (GA) and Ricci Desiderio of Tranquility Farms (NJ). Under their guidance, I schooled up to 20 client horses a day, competed nationally, won numerous year-end awards in hunters and equitation, and qualified for the Medal Maclay Equitation Regional Finals.
I discovered my calling for teaching at 15 and have spent years coaching and supporting riders at several barns. Notably, I served as director of the large riding program and summer camp at Chastain Horse Park in Atlanta, where I taught up to 50 students a week, coached middle and high school IEA (Interscholastic Equestrian Association) teams, judged local shows, and took clients and horses to local shows.
After a fulfilling hiatus to homeschool and raise my kids, landing at Davis Ranch with my three horses changed everything. The tranquility here and wonderful team that run the ranch inspired me to start teaching lessons again! Today, I still ride both English and Western for fun, and I now offer professional English and Western lessons to all ages.
My teaching style focuses on proper form and equitation across all disciplines to ensure every rider builds a strong, safe, and balanced foundation. I genuinely enjoy welcoming all experience levels, from true beginners taking their first steps in the arena or on the trail, to advanced riders polishing their skills.
