Today, on 24/09/2021, Ladakh Sports Association organized a meeting with all the registered sports associations of Ladakh in the presence of Sh. Anurag Thakur Hon'ble Minister youth service and sports , Chief Patron of Ladakh Sports Association, Sh. Jamyang Tsering Namgyal, Chief Executive Councilor, Sh. Tashi Gyalson, Sh. Tsering Tashi and Sh. Fida Hussain Khan, President, Ladakh Sports Association.

Welcome note was conveyed by Shahnaz Parveen, Treasurer of Ladakh Sports Association. Through the platform of Ladakh Sports Association, all the members discussed and put forward their association issues in front of the Sports Minister. Some of the main issues were:
Formation of sports council
Infrastructure development, equipments, affiliations with mother bodies and many other issues related to sports and its development. Sh. Anurag Thakur assured to solve the problems and we are grateful to him. Thank you note was conveyed by Sh. Jamyang Tsering Namgyal, Chief Patron of Ladakh Sports Association.

Today was closing ceremony of 2nd khelo India Winter Games
2nd edition of khelo india winter games in Gulmarg.
Ladakh Icestock sports women team won 12 gold and 1 silver.
In four events our players have participated.
1. Team game (gold)
2. Team target ( gold)
3. Team long distance ( gold)
4. Individual long distance ( silver)

Ladakh Icestock team reached Gulmarg for khelo India Winter Games. Coach Shanaz Parveen met with Shri Kiren Rijiju and had a talk regarding sports center and academy.

UT Ladakh won 6 gold, 4 Silver and 5 bronze medals in the national level.
The 7th National Icestock Sports Championship 2020-21 concluded at Gulmarg on 31st Jan 2021. The team from UT Ladakh won 6 gold, 4 Silver and 5 bronze medals in the national level tournament and emerged as an overall runner-up.

Led by Shenaz Parveen who is a member of Veteran India Sports Wing, a team of athletes from Ladakh participated in the four days tournament.

UT Ladakh’s team participated in three main events and bagged 6 gold, 4 silver and 5 bronze medals. Senior girls won 2 bronze and boys won 1 silver medal in Team Target. The girl’s team won a gold medal in Girls Team Game. The girl’s team also won a gold medal in both categories of Long Distance while the boy’s team won bronze in the junior category.

The girl’s team was represented by Nusrat Fatima, Deachen Dolker, Farhana Eliyas, Zahida Batool and the boy’s team was represented by Adnan Tariq, Stanzin Punchok, Adnan Ali, Dorjey Namgail.

CEC Gyalson congratulated all the participants on achieving such a great endeavour and wishes them best for upcoming events soon. Being a patron, CEC Gyalson assured Hill Council’s assistance in promoting these new-age sports in the Ladakhi society. He said that this will help in nurturing young talents from Ladakh in such unique sports to prepare for bigger platforms in the future.

After holding district and regional championships, the Indian Icestock Sports Federation conducted the national-level championship for all three age groups of both the genders at Gulmarg from 28th to 31st Jan 2021. Nearly 280 boys and girls from 20 states of different age categories participated in this fascinating and thrilling sport.
