We are incredibly honored to have had Professor Gustavo Dias visit us this weekend. Despite an incredibly busy schedule, he made it a point to come here and spend quality time with our students. Having a leader of his caliber invest his expertise into our mats is a testament to the culture we are building together.

​We also want to give a special thank you to Doc and Bobbie Lee. Without their help and support, we wouldn't have been able to make this visit happen. We are grateful to have people in our corner who believe in this journey as much as we do.

​Today was also a celebration of progress. 📈
​A massive shout-out to everyone who received a new belt or an increase in rank today! These promotions are a major milestone on your journey, but they are also a reflection of your consistency, sweat, and character.

​At Six Blades, we don't just "give" ranks—they are earned through discipline and the refusal to quit when things get tough. This is the heartbeat of our school and exactly who we are.

Some friendships are forged in sweat and tested on the mats.

​It was great to have Jay Clark back at the school this weekend. Having him on the mats today brought back a lot of great memories and, more importantly, brought a lot of good friends together under one roof.

​At Six Blades, we talk about "Family" and "Loyalty" as core pillars, but days like today are when you actually see those values in action. No matter how much time passes or where life takes us, the bond built through Jiu-Jitsu remains.

It is not the critic who counts; not the man who points out how the strong stumbles, or where the doer of deeds could have done them better. Today in Tallahassee, Milbrey lived the truth of those words.

​In a sport where it’s easy to stay comfortable, Milbrey chose the hard path. With no one in her specific bracket, she didn't look for an easy out. She moved up, intentionally stepping into matches against older, heavier, and more experienced opponents.

​She didn't win every battle. She faced grueling rounds and heavy pressure. But at Six Blades, we know that the "win" is often a distraction from the real work. The real work is the struggle. It’s the moment you’re tired, outmatched, and under fire, yet you refuse to be broken. Milbrey was tested repeatedly, and every time, she answered the call.

​This is why we bow to the mats. We bow to show reverence for the struggle itself. When we step onto that surface, we leave the outside world behind and commit to the grind. We bow because the mat is the only place that demands total honesty; you cannot hide from the work that hasn't been done, and you cannot fake the heart required to stay in the fight.

​Milbrey returns with two silvers and a bronze, but those are just symbols. The true achievement was her willingness to "fail greatly" while daring greatly. Her face was marred by the sweat and effort of the mat, and she proved that her spirit is as sharp as any blade.

​We don’t train for the easy days. We train for days like today. Proud of you, Milbrey, for honoring the mats and the Six Blades name.
