What an incredible season it’s been! Where do I even begin?

Although Nationals did not end how we wanted it to, this team stepped onto the floor with courage, determination, and hearts full of fire. They gave everything they had, left it all on the mat, and earned an incredible 5th Place National finish. 🏆✨

While everyone dreams of being on top, this team has shown us that success is about much more than a placement or a trophy. It’s about the lightbulb moments during practices, the resilience they showed through the challenges, the lessons learned throughout the season and the unbreakable bond they built as teammates. 8 out of our 18 athletes competed at their first National Performance this year!

To my team: know that I am incredibly proud of each and every one of you. As a team, you have grown so much, but my favorite part has been seeing you grow individually. This team has been the most special team I’ve coached this far. Thank you for believing in and never giving up on each other. Thank you for always showing up and giving your all. Thank you representing Lees Summit H5.4T with such pride and commitment. I am absolutely honored to have gotten to be your coach this past season! I couldn’t be more proud of the sportsmanship, dedication and togetherness you showed this season!

To our families: THANK YOU! For every practice, every competition and clinic. For every word of encouragement to our athletes and coaches. For the unwavering love and support. Every fundraiser, team bonding, group chat and everything in between. Without you, none of this would be possible. You are the backbone of our family and we are so incredibly grateful for you!

H5.4T, you may not have finished 1st in the Nation, but what you left on that mat is something to be proud of! This is not the end of our story, it’s another chapter that will make us stronger and hungrier.
