The Steel City Vaulters travelled to Herndon, Virginia this weekend to kick off the 2026 competition season.
We are extremely proud of all our vaulters for their hard work and dedication. We also appreciate the efforts of our vaulting families who assisted with keeping Hawkeye’s stall clean, ensuring his water was fresh, loading and unloading the trailer, and keeping our area tidy. Vaulting competitions require a team effort. Below are some pictures from our successful weekend…..❤️💛💙

Quick update on our team horses

They were both at Allegheny Equine today with the amazing Dr. Solomon….
Crumpet… had her Sarcoid surgery a few weeks ago. We had only a little concern for infection that was quickly and successfully treated. She got her stitches out today. So we will continue to watch her… prayers that they stay under control.
Hawkeye… was found to have another lesion on his blue eye. He had a small surgical procedure and some cryotherapy. He’ll go back again in two weeks.
We are grateful for having such amazing vet care so close to home, the support of our team and all our friends/family as we navigate through these health “bumps”
We are assured that Hawkeye will be ready for competition season… so don’t count out Steel City Vaulters. We’re ready to get the 2026 competition season started !!

Our sweet girl, Crumpet, is home safe and sound after surgery. Dr. Nadine and Allegheny Equine took such great care of her. Now to pray it all heals up nicely and she doesn’t rub open her stitches.

Reaching out to ask for some good healing vibes for our dear Crumpet.
She will be going to Allegheny Equine on Friday for the wonderful Dr. Solomon to remove the sarcoids on her face. This has been quite a project and much thought and discussion over the surgery itself, but we are a go for Friday.
Many many thanks to all the generous donors who graciously donated to our GoFund Me account. Our small team is forever thankful for the help in offsetting this surgery.
Crumpet has been such a legend in the Region IX vaulting world. We hope to have her continue to live a wonderful retirement on our farm where she continues to come visit practices and get lots of love from our current team.
