Leechburg Area High School’s Avery Adkins is chosen as the 26th 2025-26 Leader Times-Rosebud Mining Co. 'Teen of the Week' awardee

Avery Adkins’ integrity, resilience and strong work ethic in her challenging school environment regularly has been on full display at Leechburg Area High School (LAHS).
That’s the perspective of LAHS School Counselor Kristen Martin, MS, who began to guide Avery in that capacity in August 2025.
“Avery has been enrolled in our school’s rigorous and highly competitive coursework all throughout her high school career,” Martin added.
Such academic drive, in addition to her multiple extracurricular roles during and after school, her myriad modes of employment, and her aspirations to become a physician’s assistant, helped seal Avery’s selection as the 26th 2025-26 Leader Times-Rosebud Mining Co. Teen of the Week awardee.
A senior at LAHS, Avery holds a 4.21 GPA.
She is the daughter of Morgan and Derek Ferczak.
The awardee was nominated by Kristen Martin.
