Coaches and Managers, please read the message from SLYSA below and be prepared for game day:
Coaches and Managers,
As we moved through the first weekend of play, we want to make sure everyone is clear on two basic game-day requirements.
There will be no further leniency or exceptions.
PLAYER ID & COACH ID CARDS
ALL players and coaches must have their required ID cards available at the field. While we strongly prefer physical ID cards, electronic copies may be used only in an emergency situation.
These requirements are not simply administrative. They are basic safety measures that ensure we know who is participating and that coaches on the sidelines are properly qualified and authorized to be working with our youth players.
No ID card = No Play.
Beginning this weekend:
If a player or coach does not have the required ID card, they will not be permitted to participate.
The game will be deemed cancelled and scored as a forfeit if the team cannot meet the ID requirements.
A forfeit fee will be due the following business day.
The game will not be rescheduled, even if both teams agree.
If the game is cancelled due to missing ID cards, the teams may use the field to scrimmage, but no official game will be played and the referee crew will not be used.
MATCH CARDS
The home team is responsible for providing the match card for every game. Match cards can be printed beginning three days prior to the scheduled match.
We also strongly encourage the away team to bring a copy of the match card as a backup. This is simply to prevent an issue if a coach or manager leaves the field in a hurry and accidentally takes the only copy with them.
Please take the time now to make sure your players, coaches, and team staff are prepared for these requirements. We understand the first weekend involved some growing pains, which is why we allowed leniency during opening weekend.
Coaches, at the end of every game, please verify the score is correct and sign the game card before leaving the field.
GUEST PLAYER FORMS
The only guest player form that should be used is the SLYSA GUEST PLAYER FORM that can be found on the SLYSA website.
Rules will be enforced consistently. No ID cards, no play. No exceptions.
Thank you for helping us maintain a safe, organized, and properly managed environment for all of our players and families.
