LEBANON P.T. STRENGTH AND CONDITIONING PROGRAM
Greg Cornforth, DPT, SCS, CSCS, Nick Smith, DPT, Tabby Robinette, LPTA, CPT, at Lebanon Physical Therapy will be conducting an 8-week strength and conditioning program emphasizing speed and agility training for southwest Virginia athletes. Greg is a certified strength and conditioning specialist who developed this program 20 years ago. Greg recently competed in the World Half Ironman Championships in St. George, Utah and ran the 2018 New York Marathon. Nick is a very accomplished athlete and scholar, raised in Lebanon where he was track and field state champion in 2008 and received several all-state and all region honors in football and track. Nick pursued his football career at UVA-Wise playing safety and then received his doctorate in Physical Therapy at Marshall University in 2020. Nick is a certified speed and agility coach. Tabby is also a decorated athlete from Lebanon High School. Tabby has an array of achievements including several regional titles, all-state honors, a top 20 finish at New Balance Nationals, and a College Division II conference championship in 10,000 meters. Tabby now works as a licensed physical therapist assistant and a certified personal trainer. All 3 professionals are extremely skilled and professional, and truly enjoy devoting their time for the betterment of athletes.
The program will begin with assessments on June 3rd and June 4th, and workouts will be 3 times per week throughout the summer until August 5th. Athletes willing to participate should call early and schedule their initial appointment to guarantee their spot.
The program consists of an initial evaluation to test the athlete’s strength, speed, agility, flexibility, power, and conditioning to determine their fitness and generate goals for the athlete to achieve. The athlete will then participate in 8 weeks of strengthening, speed, agility, flexibiland power building exercises to help achieve their goals. At the conclusion of the program, a retest and report is performed on each athlete to determine the improvement.
The program has been a great success in the past in helping athletes improve their physical abilities, prevent injuries, and help them perform at a higher level. The total cost of the private program is $400.00. Limited space is available.
